COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plums are a diverse group of species, with somewhere between 19 & 40 varieties depending upon whom you ask. We’re using what we consider to be the best to brew with. the Italian plum has beautiful dark skin & the flesh is perfect for fermentation. Plum Noir’s mild sweetness is derived no necessarily from the many malts we use. A bit of plum flavor is present as well as earthy, toasted grains, & hints of caramel with mild coffee overtones.

Sampled bottle at porterveckan 2013. Black with a light brown head. Plums/prunes, definitely, like something you would get at your grandmother’s. Also sweet chocolate, caramel, fruits, medium roast. Medium body. This was interesting, but personally that prune flavour doesn’t quite work for me.

On tap at Christian Firtal. Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice, malt and dried fruit. Sweet roasted flavour, with plenty of dried fruit and brown sugar. A beer where ST’s signature sweetness works quite well, thanks to a roasted, drying finish.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2013 Appearance: dark, nearly opaque brown. off-white/cream colored head. Aroma: sugarplums, medium roasted coffee. toasty wheat bread. Taste: sugar, dark fruit, bitter coffee all vie for control. nothing really coheres too well. astringent/bitter aftertaste. Palate: thin, flat carbo. abrupt finish.

Snifter at Jackie O’s Public House on 10/10/13. Darkest brown to black pour with a thick beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and some dark fruit. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some roast and faint vinous fruit before a bitter roasty finish.

Pours black with a slight smell of smoke and plums. Much more of a porter body with little notes of the plums. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium dark brown pour with more of an off-white head than tan. Aroma is mild sweet dark fruit and light grain. Taste is a mild porter. I know it sounds like a contradiction, but it seems to work.

bottle from ølbutikken. dark brown, light for the style, smooth light brown head.malts, nuts, caramel in the aroma.flavor is sweet, slightly fruity, faint bitter fruit peel, hard roasted malts, roasted malts, pepper. Taste is sort of traditional strong porter, with a very small touch of dried dark fruits. not bad, but not very interesting either. Quite tasty though.
