Plums are a diverse group of species, with somewhere between 19 & 40 varieties depending upon whom you ask. We’re using what we consider to be the best to brew with. the Italian plum has beautiful dark skin & the flesh is perfect for fermentation. Plum Noir’s mild sweetness is derived no necessarily from the many malts we use. A bit of plum flavor is present as well as earthy, toasted grains, & hints of caramel with mild coffee overtones.

Medium dark brown pour with more of an off-white head than tan. Aroma is mild sweet dark fruit and light grain. Taste is a mild porter. I know it sounds like a contradiction, but it seems to work.

bottle from ølbutikken. dark brown, light for the style, smooth light brown head.malts, nuts, caramel in the aroma.flavor is sweet, slightly fruity, faint bitter fruit peel, hard roasted malts, roasted malts, pepper. Taste is sort of traditional strong porter, with a very small touch of dried dark fruits. not bad, but not very interesting either. Quite tasty though.

Poured a pretty medium purple with a faint head. Some sweet plum in the nose. In the mouth there is definitely some plum with a bit of hops.

Tasted from draft. Pours a dark brown with tan head. Great lacing. Strong aroma of roasted malt. Taste is sweet roasted malt and caramel. I don't get any plum. Very well balanced. Hints of coffee but not much. Minimal bitterness. Nice feel on the palate. Moderate the heavy body. Very smooth drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not detecting much plum in this one, but it is a pretty great imperial stout nonetheless. Pours dark with a tan head, aroma of coffee, dark fruits, and booze. Taste is smooth malts and dark fruits with hints of coffee and tobacco. Good beer!

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Roasted malt nose and flavor is light malty sweetness with some bitter chocolate. Not finding any plum. $9.49 for a 22oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Marlboro, MA
