Big bottle. Dark ruby brown the small off white head. Aroma a bit roasted with faint dark fruit. Taste follows and adds some fruit astringency.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is very raisin forward with heavy toffee and light roast, touch of aniseed coming through. Taste is dark fruits but not necessarily plummy. More raisin, currant, dates type thing. Balanced roast and dry chocolate but not much else. As it warms becomes a touch more plummy but it isn’t enough. Ok

Very little to no aroma if you use your imagination you can a slight dark malt aroma. Flavor is malt with slight chalky sweet at the end. Not impressive. Head that last about one minute. Very thin mouthfeel and chalky for a 8 percent. Do yourself a favor avoid.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
rating from a couple months back, on tap at Dash In - Pours very dark brown with a tan head. It smells of roast malt and dark fruit. The flavor is sweet and roasty with chocolate and plum character. It’s medium to full bodied. The stout base beer and the fruit are well balanced. Some may find it sweet. Very solid effort.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2014 Dark brown, clear, off-white head. Aroma: baker’s chocolate, cocoa, an obvious berry-like aroma, a little port-like aroma as well. Flavor: bready malt, cocoa, dry chocolate, earthy notes, plum notes are moderate, berry notes as well. Interesting beer.

While this is a very good imperial porter, the plum was totally lost to me. It has good chocolate tones which must have overwhelmed the plum.

Black pour with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas on the nose. Nice roasted malt flavor with a just a bit of plum on the palate. Interesting concept but the plum character is very subtle in my opinion but still present in aroma and taste.
