ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Apr 14, 2009 Dark brown with a small tan head. Excellent roasted aroma with strong notes of dark dried fruits, chocolate and cappucino. The flavour is roasted and dry, with coffee and an odd, unpleasant note of raw malt and wort. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 12, 2009 Bottle at home ... with Jan and charlotte ... deep red brown ... thin bubbly tan head ... milky chocolate nose ... deep roast ... again milky chocolate ... Pours deep brown with slight coppery edges. A fat, creamy beige head on top. Aroma is lightly roasted, some dark chocolate and clear notes of blackberries. Lowish carbonation, fine mouthfeel with some dryness. Flavour is rather dry, some ashy notes, coffee, dark chocolate. Good roasted notes. Fine porter.
