Jan 30, 2009 Bottle: Cola-esque pour with a frothy head. Sort of got the steamed vegetables aroma off of this one, ew, some dark chocolate in the flavor and a misplaced sense of fruit cloaked in burnt coffee. Would like a re-rate, not sure what was up with this one.

Jan 30, 2009 Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. The smell is roasty, malts, nutty, dark chocolate, and cereal. The look is dark brown in color, clear, with a thin beige head. Taste is roasty, chocolate, coffee.

Jan 25, 2009 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Three Cellars in St Francis, WI. Pours a semi-clear dark brown brew with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some chocolate, roasted nuts and a touch of coffee. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of toasted dark malt, some floral hops, chocolate and some dark pitted fruits. Finish is a little thin with a short lived toasted dark malt aftertaste.

Jan 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with a small off-white ring and a dark brown body. Aroma of chocolate, corn nuts, dirt and shredded mini-wheats. Taste is dirt, and dry roast. Dry and fizzy mouthfeel.

Roast malt flavor is nice with a slight toasty and nutty character. Touch of grain astringency. Hints of dark fruits. Fairly dry clean finish with low earthy hop bitterness.
