robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Sep 8, 2008 Aroma is very roasted, some nice coffee notes, and some bitter chocolate, even some slight dark fruit notes. Flavour is very roasty, lots of nice malt, and a nice hop bit in the end adding soem nice bitterness. A very well made, and easy drinking porter. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Date: 09/04/08, 12 oz. bottle,
Aroma - Dark roast coffee, some unsweetened chocolate, and a quiet, subtle piney hops
Appearance - Ruby tinged black/brown pour, spare beige head collapses quickly to thin spotty layer, spotty lace
Flavor - Coffee flavors dominate, roasted malts, balanced by a pleasing and gentle hoppy bitterness, and a clean dry finish
Palate - Medium body and carbonation, mildly astringent, and a palate pleasing dryness
Overall - Quality porter with a good nose and balnced flavors. Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA Sep 4, 2008 bottle, nice dark chocolate aroma with some malt. Kind of bitter with some sweetness throughout. Definitely a good porter that I would drink again VeloVampire (483), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 10, 2008 On tap at the Empty Pint - poured very dark with slight reddish hints at the edges and a mocha head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, some black licorice. Flavour very much redolent of espresso and burnt coffee grounds, along with some medium hop bitterness in the finish.
