Commercial Description:
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus_Stick - Pours a clear brown color with a one and a half finger thick light tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is faint coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is light coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Has a slight bitter aftertaste. Medium body. A good porter. Thanks Alan.

Thanks to hoplover406 for this. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate malt. Very nice porter taste, not too heavy, chocolate malt and coffee are the predominate tastes. Lots of coffee in the aftertaste. Not overbearing and very tasty.

12-oz bottle received via trade with swoopjones. Pours opaque with a small, fizzy, brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, bread, coffee), average hops (perfume, citrus), average yeast (leather) with notes of smoke and wood. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Very smooth and good standard porter. This one has a hint of hops in the aroma and the taste is a lot more roasty finish than other porters I have had. It is well balanced and therefore doesn’t have an overwhelming flavor. This is a quality porter, a bit to thin, but it went down quick!

A decent and drinkable porter, though a bit thin in the flavor. Aroma was decent. Roasted malt mixed with coffee. Pour was a deep dark brown with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was mostly coffee with just a hint of chocolate in and out. Very heavy carbonation which is usually good, but the taste can’t break through it. Not bad not great.

Sept. 2007 - Beer poured dark with decent head and lacing. Milky lactic aroma with burned notes. This is a porter as it should be. Dark roasty notes with a lot of bitter milk chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. The only negative was the large amount of lacticity (is that a word?) just doesn’t appeal to me greatly.

Bottle- Coca-cola pour with a fluffy mocha froth.Aroma is roasty, coffee bean , some dark chocolate and dark malts, a touch of vanilla. Bitter, roasted coffee bean flavour, dark chocolate, with some yeast and a solid bitter coffee finish. Dry and pleasing. Good.
