Commercial Description:
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

This is a light porter to me. Easy drinkin’ and mild. Has an odd doughy nose and gets slightly sweet at the finish.

Black color; huge head. A slightly coffeish Porter, midway between a Stout and a Porter, quite dry mouthfeel (also because of the evident overcarbonation), not bad mainly because of a good hopping.

Bottle courtesy of Jerc: Poured a clear black color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter roasted malt is somewhat average. Taste is also dominated by medium bitter notes from roasted malt with some light sweetness and some notes of black chocolate. Body is about average with some medium carbonation. Easily drinkable porter with some limited complexity.

coffee like aroma with a hint of hops near the end, a small bitterness that has some cooking chocalate mix, not an over-bearing porter

bottle poured into a snifter is a dark black in color with slow carbination and a thin layer of tan froth on the surface. aroma is malty, roasted coffee bean, dark chocolate, and some toffee. the flavor is full of rich malt, chocolate, has a slight bitterness, and finishes thinner than the body led on with bitterness and some noticeable hops. it does have a rich toasted malt flavor but is not overwhelming, really simple but quite drinkable and well balanced.

This beer is kind of weak for a porter, and has kind of an musty flavor. There is absolutely no aroma, and not a lot of flavor. Suck on a gym sock.
