Commercial Description:
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

Bottle- nice aroma, very roasty, coffee like with some patent malts. Dark syruppy in appearence, some a similiar mouthfeel. Decent porter flavor, with some interesting things going on. Not bad at all.

Thanks to some friendly RateBeerian out there for sending me the brew!

Pours a charred black body and a wispy light khaki head. The aroma has an un-suspected hint of tartness, coffee and bakers chocolate. The flavor holds no tartness, just a super dry coffee bitterness; again, the thought of baker’s chocolate is strong and holds long into the finish. The palate is medium, maybe a bit thin. I believe I enjoy the flavor more than the aroma, some raisin and fig creep into the finish… a respectable porter, indeed!

Coffee and yeast aroma. Yeast is less evident. Dark amber color. Foam is suprisingly light for a porter. Flavor is mellow. Not tasting much more than some dark malts. Very small amount of bitterness in the finish. Slightly creamy mouth feel.

12 oz Bottle @ Coles Buffalo Ny. A little light in the body. Coffee & Chocolate notes. One of my least favorite offerings from ST. Still decent though

12oz bottle. Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and some coffee. Thinner tastes of roast, chocolate, and caramel. Body on the thinner side as well.

Poured an amber-ruby color. Clear and dark with a tan head. Roasty malt aroma with coffee notes. Fairly sweet. Malty and semi-sweet with notes of cereal and roast. Mild chocolate. Light bitterness and semi-dry.
