Commercial Description:
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

Bottle. Dark brown with a medium head. Aroma of coffee and grass hops. Taste is roasted, nutty and earthy. Bitter finish. Medium-full body. Creamy and oily texture. A bit thin for the style. Kind of a disappointment for a brewer that I usually like.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown to black color with a small tan head. Smell is heavy on chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and some hops. Taste is sweet and rich but not overly done. Kind of thin mouthfeel, not the best porter Ive drank. If it was a tad thicker, this would be really good stuff.

12oz Bottle: Very deep brown, with burgundy at edges, with a consistant tan head. Decent roasty cocoa aroma. Thin in body. The flavor is nicely roasted. Peaty and woody notes, gritty cocoa flavors and a light coffee flavor in the mildly roasty finish. A simple and standard Porter profile.

Black appearance, light head which clung to the glass. New to rating, found it hard to place the aroma..burnt? a little coffee? Definite chocolate and coffee in the taste. enjoyed

Black, oily looking, very little head. Nice malty coffee and chocolate nose. Coffee and chocolate are also very strong in the taste, with a hoppy aftertaste, with a bit too much alcohol aftertaste.

Dark brown/cola body with a small, off-white head. The aroma is brown sugar, milk chocolate, light molases and citrus hops. The flavor is cola, milk chocolate, light roast and molases. Medium/light body is on the thin side. Very drinkable, but would be greatly improved if unfiltered and bottle conditioned.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a thin tan head. Has a roasted malt, almost burnt aroma. Fairly sweet, with a coffee and chocolate bitterness. Despite the sweetness, the finish is quick and dry.

Bottle from trade with Ty5592. Dark brown, but not opaque, with a little tan head. Blah blah blah, we are a craft brewer and we make a porter, its really boring. Roasted malt, a little coffee, minor cocoa , and plenty of blah. No offense souther tier, but this beer is weak. easy drinking though. moving on...
