Commercial Description:
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a thin tan head. Has a roasted malt, almost burnt aroma. Fairly sweet, with a coffee and chocolate bitterness. Despite the sweetness, the finish is quick and dry.

Bottle from trade with Ty5592. Dark brown, but not opaque, with a little tan head. Blah blah blah, we are a craft brewer and we make a porter, its really boring. Roasted malt, a little coffee, minor cocoa , and plenty of blah. No offense souther tier, but this beer is weak. easy drinking though. moving on...

Quite dark brown; very little tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roast, caramel, and light vanilla. Flavor predominantly chocolate, coffee, and roast; moderately bitter, hoppy, roasty finish. Medium-thick and frothy; mildly sticky. This is a solid, if forgettable, above-average porter.

Bottled. Poured a clear, deep garnety/brown with a nice initial cap of tan head that receded to a fine film. Nose was nicely burnt with dark chocolate and medium roast coffee coming through. The flavor had a pleasant cold coffee base with grainy chocolate and burnt dark malts on top.. mild coffee bitterness. Not too complex, but an enjoyable drink. Just shy of medium-bodied. Not bad.. not great.

Dark brown, no head. Sweet chocolate aroma, light coffee background. Flavor exactly on par with the aroma, tapers off in the finish to almost nothing. Body/mouthfeel rather thin and watary. Just average, rather bland porter.

Bottle shared by sliffy. Pours pretty black with a light brown head. Great chocolate and roasty aroma with a little sweetness. A little thin on the body. Flavor was pretty roasty but this really wasnt to bad.

Bottle thanks to drewbeerme: Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor, some fruits, roasted malt and chocolate. Nothing special, but it’s not bad.
