JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2006 This isn’t extroadinary but its satisfying with its smokey ember hop flavor and dry finish. The body isn’t as prevalent as with other porters which have that slippery mouthfeel. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 29, 2006 In the bottle. Thanks to Springslicker for the beer! Pours coal-black with a reddish hue in the direct light. Dark tan fluffy rich head. The aroma is chocolate and floral (?!). The flavor is smokey and roasted. Seems like the gratuitous body is milky. Sweetness is present, but the tartness of the hops balances this sweetness well. The finish is quick and mild leaving you with a very satisfying beer. Thanks Springslicker! crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Mar 25, 2006 poured an opaque black-reddish hue with a froathy tan head. A rich malty aroma with coffee and chocolate notes. Taste was all malts a rich coffee taste with some chocolate notes, with some alcohol notes a bitter dry finish. Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA Mar 7, 2006 pours black that shows red when held aloft and a gray head that rings with islands of foam floating around. Not much from the nose, a little light roast and coffee. Sweet flavor that I really didn’t expect judging by the nose. It tastes like chocolate chips, toast, and coffee. A lingering roast coffee flavor. Some alcohol is noticeable too. Thin body to this. Not a bad brew.

Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Mar 4, 2006 Very dark pour, rich creamy tan head. Nose was roasted coffee. Wow, mouth feel was much fuller then I anticipated from the pour. Well balanced carbonation, hop and malt profile. This is a most excellent Porter, and much appreciated, Thanks shadey! kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 4, 2006 12 oz bottle, via puzzl. An energetic poof emits when I crack the cap. The first pour yields 3/4 head and 1/4 beer. Dark mahogany body with a light brown head after several pours and many minutes. Milk chocolate, roast, licorice, and coffee on the nose, very dry. Flavor is a little thin, mostly coffee and black patent malt. Finish is dry, dusty, and overly astringent. The carbonation in this is so high that as soon as the beer reaches my tongue it turns into a mass of foam. When you wait it out you get a thinnish light bodied mouthfeel. I’m not really sure what to think of this one, the carbonation just completely distracts me. Maybe a bad bottle? badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Feb 28, 2006 Black color with a no head. Some mild hop aroma. Oddly enough, the taste was about the same. No real malt body or any roasts of any kind. Just thick, dry hop juice. fly (1331), austin, Tejas, USA Feb 28, 2006 Very solid porter with nice body and that it held up to me drinking at a time when I probably shouldn’t have (after MANY other beers) it is all the more impressive. Thanks again to Shadey
