COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porter is our darkest beer, but not necessarily our strongest. It is widely held that the darker the beer the stronger the beer, but this is summarily false. The contribution of color comes directly from the color of malt that we use. Some malt is roasted to achieve dark color and coffee-like flavor, which in turn get transferred to the beer. Our Porter is richly complex with overtones of chocolate and espresso beans followed by a subtle flavor of hops. It’s a nourishing beer without being too sweet or filling.

bottle; dark brown-red with medium beige head; aroma-roasty, coffee, fruits, some chocolate but really light; taste-light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, lively. This is a light porter. Not my favorite from the brewery.

on tap at Miss Lucy’s Kitchen in Saugerties, Ny. poured into a cheater pint Pours a deep dark amber color with ruby on the edges, foamy 1/2" tan head with good retnetion, educes to a small cap. Nose is kind of bland, light roast and chocolate. This is a well balanced porter, roastiness is the main influence mixed with faint chocolate, flower, slight toast. Medium body, tends to feel a bit flat and thick on the toungue. Finishes dry, I wish it had a tad more carbonation to help.

AWISLguy (668) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 10, 2012
Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. Pours very, very dark brown with ruby highlights and almost no head. Aroma has vinous fruit, earthiness and some chocolate. Taste brings dark fruit, chocolate, some roasted coffee. Not very sweet, but somewhat. Very little alcohol presence. Flavor is a bit thin and finishes quite short. Why is STier disappointing such a large percentage of the time?

Poured from bottle. Faint aroma of coffee grounds. Almost stout black. Flavors of coffee and roasted nut. Cocoa notes Nice dry porter feel, has stout notes too. Good stuff.

Dark brown color with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Mostly, roasted malt flavor with chocolate, coffee, and hint of hops at the end. Very nice porter.

Deep dark brown with a tan head. Sweet fruit aroma mixed with a chocolate aroma.Pleasant and almost tangy. Fruity chocolate taste with a nice clean finish. Most unusual Porter I’ve had so far as far as taste. Has a clean finish rather than a dry feeling as many in this style do. Mildly bitter. Very well done.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2012 Nice porter that is on the roasty side of the spectrum. Not a whole lot of sweetness and goes down nicely.

Bottle. This seems like more of a brown than a porter in terms of body and color. It does have coffee & chocolate but is thin for the style. Just okay and not one to run back to.

Pours dark brown with very little head and lacing. Aroma of moderate amounts of roasted malts and coffee. Smooth taste, but alittle watery. Easy drinking porter.

bottled. Pours dark brown to black, lots of malts and a fair bit of smokiness. Pretty good porter.
