Aroma is straight chocolate covered raspberries. Flavor is not too sweet; more chocolate and a hefty dose of raspberries on the finish.

On tap at the pony bar in NYC. When I saw this sucker I knew I had to have it... Been missing out on this sucker for far too long! Rich chocolate and rich raspberry flavors.. Tastes like my morning coffee at cafe groppi. This might be the single most underated beer on this site.

Dark porter with medium tan/red head... aroma of chocolate, coffee and raspberry... a pretty decent raspberry porter with light fruit flavor

Bottle. Pours brown, settles in a bit reddish. Thin reddish head. Aroma is extremely weak; smells vaguely like raspberries. Weak body with an average finish.

The color is reddish brown. Fragile foamy head disappears fast. Looks watery, but also dark and substantial. Deep and rich, but not doesn’t look thick. Good lace. Smells like a coffee with a hint of raspberry. Both scents go together nicely. The bitter coffee and berry smells are good together. The berry is the dominant initial flavor; coffee comes after the swallow. A wheat flavor is present too -- somewhat. Not that complex, but nicely balanced. Like a black + red flavor. It’s smooth, but with the slight thickness of a porter. Good smooth/rough contrast in the feel. It’s a good sweet/bitter beer with some depth in the contrasting flavors. Both bitter + sweet are strong.

Bottle. I enjoyed this. Poured a murky brown with a reddish tinge, and a medium white head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts, raspberry, and caramel. Flavor is similar, fruity and malty and sweet, very smooth overall; a bit thin for a porter, however. I had this on a very hot summer night and it was still refreshing and welcome. I’d have it again.

This one was sorta disappointing. It’s more raspberry than porter, IMO. The fruit flavors are definitely there, it’s borderline too sweet for me. It looks pretty nice on a pour though. A rare miss from Southern Tier, in my opinion.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Mahogany color; small head. Dusty and fruity aroma. Dry caramel flavor, harsh and dry berry fruit touch. Bad.
