Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours ruby red with a thin white head. Smells of pronounced raspberries. Tastes of chocolate, raspberries, roasted malt, spice. Excellent!

Bottle served, reddish brown with a medium, off white head. Aroma of raspberry extract, bread & yeast. Flavor of raspberry candy, cocoa & a hint of coffee. Watery & too light bodied to be a porter. Not a favorite combo as a fruit beer.OK dryness in the finish. Not a repeat preference.

(Bottle) Pours a very dark brown color with lots of off-white head. Aroma of canned raspberry and dry chocolate malts. The somewhat artificial sweetness of the raspberry didn’t seem that bad when combined with roasted coffee and dark toffee notes in the taste. Medium-high carbonation. Palate on the light side for a porter, but as a ’fruit beer’ the palate is more than adequate. I did enjoy this one as a dessert beer.

12 oz bottle. yuck, this is not a porter! Really dissappointed with this one. Poured a ruby dark brown, kinda like a cola. Does smell like raspberries and malts. Taste is weak, thin and pointless raspberries. Different but not good.

In short: A raspberry porter with a soda-pop “fake” feeling. Bad.
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed fresh about 1 month after receiving directly from the brewery through private importation
The look: Very dark ruby topped by a large tan head
In long: Nose has light roasted notes and a fake raspberry smell similar to a raspberry flavour soft-drink. Carbonation is soft-drink aggressive. Light-medium tartness. Moderately sweet. This beer (and I use the term loosely) really feels like someone poured a raspberry flavour soft-drink into a bland generic roasted stout. Almost feel like a macro attempt at a dark fruity beer, like a macro “dark raspberry cooler”. Bad stuff. As a flavours marriage is a failure, such a marriage failure than the Southern Tier raspberries are probably screwing with the cherries of the New Glarus Belgian Red.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours a chocolate brown color with a medium head. Decent retention and nice lacing. Aroma of raspberry, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is even more chocolate, heavy raspberry and roasted malts. Medium body.

Brown color with a hint of rudy when held to the light. Monstrous bone colored head. That collapses slowly with big wispy bubbles and a bit of lace. BIG raspberry nose. Just a hint of roasted malt underneath. If you like raspberries you should like the smell of this one. Quite thin and a bit fizzy in feel. Light malt start. Quite dry throughout. Hints of raspberries in the flavor. Dry roast in the finish and linger. Thin feel, thin flavor. I could see cooking with this. No real backbone to this one.

Dark reddish brown color, with a fluffy beige head, leaving laces, sweet raspberry purée nose, with a faint strawberry fruitiness, and a light toasty, roasty note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a fruity raspberry, dark chocolatey character, with a roasty, smoky ashes accent, with a subtle black coffee note, a faint flowery hop leafiness, leading towards a raspberry, roasty bitterness finish.
