I tried this beer on April 25, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a slightly translucent dark ruby red with a very thin white head. The aroma was all raspberries with some faint hints of malt. The mouthfeel was weak and slightly watery with very little carbonation. The flavour was very much like a weak raspberry tea with a slight sourness. Nowhere near the same calibre of beer as the raspberry wheat. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Small tan head that mostly lasted, splotchy amounts of lacing, transparent, no carbonation observed, and a reddish brown hue. Nose was sweet, raspberries, some maltiness, and hints of chocolate. The flavor was sweet, semi-tart, raspberries, some malt, some roastiness, and a dry finish. Tingly mouthfeel. I was not impressed with the flavor of this beer as it was hit and miss throughout my rating. DWestrick (237), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA

Pungent smuckers jelly-type of rasberry aroma. Sweet and sugary. Pleasing blend in flavoring. Tart, dry, acidic initial taste backed up by a berry floral exhale. Nice, not spectacular. Deep clear mahogany pour with virtually no head or lacing. Aroma was straight raspberries. The flavor was way more raspberry than porter, and as such, I didn’t enjoy it very much. I prefer my fruit beers to taste like beer with a hint of fruit, not the other way around. Couldn’t finish it. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA
