I really liked this stuff. I was skeptical about a raspberry porter, but the flavors go along great in this recipe. The raspberry flavor is really great and upfront, but is balanced very well with the common porter flavors, namely chocolate. It comes across almost like eating a raspberry flavored chocolate candy. Tasty!

A 0.355L bottle tasted at Pikkulintu. Raspberry in the nose. Pale brown head. Nice red colour. Slightly bitter taste with cherrystone notes. Not sweet.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a tan head. Sweet raspberry sugar cane notes with a lighter sugar sweetness. A bit tart with berry fruit. Not so good.

10/17/2007: Southern Tier Raspberry Porter has fresh raspberries, caramel malt, and brown sugar in its aroma. It has a clear, brown-colored appearance and is topped by a beige crown. The flavor includes chocolate tending toward highly roasted malts. It has a dry, char-like finish and the aftertaste is like raspberry iced tea. This beer has a medium body, but is not quite smooth. It seems yeasty or gritty or something. This beer just seems unbalanced and off-track. It just doesn’t work overall.

12 fl. oz. bottle. Rating #215 for this beer.

Bottle. Pour was deep copper with a somewhat lasting head. This seemed to be a brown porter for it was not dark enough to be a real porter. Aroma was strong of raspberries which was nice but overpowering to the brew. Flavors were again fruity and unforgiving to the light but nice roast characters of the brew. If the beer favored the porter style a little more, I would order another.

Bottle 355ml. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #26. ]
Clear medium amber red brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, raspberry and raspberry. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average duration. Very artificial. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090612]

Dark reddish-brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of raspberry, sweetness, roasted malt way in the background. The sweetness and roasted malt kind of fuse together. the flavors hit you at once, raspberry, roasted malt, then sweetness. Leaves a little dry mouthfeel. Not one flavor overpowering the other. Alright beer. Some lacing.

Bottle. Yellow/copper color. No head, no lacing. Smells sweet, rasberry obviously. Taste is malt with a rasberry after taste. Easy to drink. Overall a decent rasberry beer. I would drink it again. Probably a good summer time brew to change things up
