Though I’ve been utterly impressed by almost any raspberry wheat, I gotta say this one resented me with some fresh raspberry smell upon opening, instead of raspberry syrup. But after that start, I find myself agreeing with the consensus. Pour offers a brief bit of head over a clear lager color. Watery soda texture masks any malt character and just comes in like a seltzer with fruit flavored syrup. I just don’t get this. I thought these guys had a good reputation. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a clear gold with little head and aromas that are reminiscent of apple and raspberry juices mixed together. Flavor is a mixture of a watery wheat beer that has been heavily filtered and some understated raspberry juice concentrate. There is something that is not quite right here... almost medicinal or astringent. Aftertaste is blech. BMan1113VR (2818), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
