Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Hazy deep blond color. Quite artificial candy aroma, peach; sweetish; asparagus (?). Light mouthfeel, bad Lager with artificial flavoring. Bad.

Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white head. Wheat with some berry notes, a bit sweet with an artificial raz character. Eh not so good. To candy like.

12 oz bottle from Siciliano’s and our trip to Michigan. Pours a straw yellow, a bit light hazed, bright white soapy head that dies to a small layer, laces some. Aromas are tart raspberries, a bit artificial, potent though. Some flaked wheat underneath, but the raspberries take over on the nose. Initial is more mellow, with flaked wheat and raspberry puree mixing together, underlying berry sweetness and tartness, nothing overbearing (like the aroma originally made it feel like). This is a pretty good fruit wheat, with good raspberry flavors, without becoming cloying or too muted. Strikes a balance as far as fruit wheats are concerned. Still, it is what it is and tasted a bit artifical further in.

Lemon and raspberry aroma. Hazy yellow, no head. Tastes of raspberry and stale malt. Parsley finish. This is not one of ST’s better offerings.

Bottle. Not a terrible beer, but nothing I would want to try again. Big raspberry nose, and flavour is sweet, mild malts, acidic notes and more raspberry. Nothing to get excited about here.

355 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Slightly hazy golden with minimal white head. Aroma: Plenty of raspeberry, some artificial, some real, a bit jammy, some light metallic notes, a bit of wheat and grass, that’s about it! Palate: Medium body, moderate to full effervescence. Flav.: The raspberry is again a mix of artificial candy and real raspberry fruit and jam, still some light malts from the wheat, no metallic notes; dry with a touch of bitterness and a light toasted malt finish with some subtle raspberry.

Well, it isn’t horrid, but I wouldn’t drink much of it.

12 oz bottle...pour light yellow with a fizzy white head. Nose of raspberry flavoring, and some malts. Flavor was god awful...like a rasperry spritzer. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Sweet acidic finish...lingering sweetness. Not a beer to seek out IMHO.
