2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 zach8270 (2921) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUN 20, 2007
(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Pale yellow color with a soapy white head. Aroma smells like fresh raspberries with some hops underneath. Smells very nice. Flavor is very sour and grassy with some metal. No raspberry in the flavor whatsoever. Smells great, but the flavor is lacking.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 20, 2007
Draught at Coles in Buffalo, NY. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is big-time raspberries and not much else, almost like a raspberry cooler -- it smells fine but nothing like a beer. Tastes like raspberry flavoured water with a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. I don’t mind a good Fruit Beer but this does nothing for me.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 shigadeyo (2400) - Harrison, Ohio, USA - JUN 12, 2007
6/12/2007: Southern Tier Raspberry Wheat Beer pours a surprising transparent, pale straw color. It has a thin, frothy, white head and has a subtle level of carbonation. The aroma is pale malts with some fake, sugary raspberry. The flavor has a lot of powdery, sweet, fake raspberry followed by what almost tastes like a mediocre Pilsener- or Dortmunder-like beer with that same slight hop bitterness bite in the finish. That initial smashed-up Smarties candy flavor reminds me a lot of the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/michigan-brewing Raspberry. This beer is pretty light with an average mouthfeel. The color and flavor of this beer make it clear that real fruit was not used in the making of this beer. For a good fruit beer with real raspberry taste, look elsewhere (e.g. <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/new-glarus-raspb Glarus Raspberry Tart, <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/founders-rübæus/ Rübæus, <a href=hhttp://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/oaken-barrel-ra Barrel Razz-Wheat, <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/abita-purple-haz Purple Haze and others... I have absolutely nothing against fruit beers, but I am very disappointed with this beer and I am really surprised that Southern Tier put their name on such a below average beer. Needless to say, my wife didn’t really care for this one at all. I didn’t either, but finished up the bottle anyways...
12 oz bottle (4123014070222) from Jungle Jim’s.

Bottle sample at Jungle Jim’s. Pours clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate raspberry aroma. Medium body. Medium raspberry flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of an average duration. My expectations where not met.

On draft at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured clear golden with absolutely no head. Appeared uncarbonated. Initially a sweet raspberry flavor followed with a bready, yeasty finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 OhioDad (2493) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - JUN 5, 2007
12oz bottle pours golden with a short white head and some lace. Aromas of raspberry over frosted flakes. Flavor is raspberry, frosted flakes, good sweetness throughout. Nice crisp and clean palate makes this quite refreshing and a good summer beer.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ron (1988) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 26, 2007
On tap at MacGregor’s. Great aroma of Raspberry, as was the flavor. Easy drinking enjoyable beer. Would be even better during the hot summer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jb (1809) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 26, 2007

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Sammy (7035) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2007
The brewery brought this in to the Buffalo Racetrack brewfest. Lagerish mouthfeel and taste, with added injected flavour. Bubbly head and lace. Pale colour. More sweet than hoppy. Passable. I don’t like fruit beers in general and this is a good example.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 spkldhenlvr24 (517) - Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 7, 2007
Draught. Pours a clear pale golden body with a fluffy medium sized white head. Raspberry, wheaty nose. Easy drinking raspberry beer. Definitely not one of the best ST, but a solid beer.
