Southern Tier Raspberry Wheat Beer

From bottle, blind #25. Pours cloudy orange with a collapsing off-white head. Dense raspberry aroma. Dry flavoured, thin body and light fruity. Light fruity and dry finish. Lasting sodapop fruity flavoured into the far finish, vague estery note.

Bottle #25 at Papsø’s blindtasting. Cloudy golden coloured with a medium sized white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of raspberries. Sweet and fruity flavour of raspberries and oranges. Sweet finish. Light watery.

12 oz bottle. Slightly cloudy golden color, white head. Pleasant rasberry aroma. The rasberries are also present in the flavor, along with some citric notes and a toasty finish. Light body, medium-high carbonation. Refreshing, but definitely not spectacular.

(Bottled) Slightly hazy pale yellow with a small head. Aroma of raspberry stones and sugar. Raspberry stones also in the flavor, with light acidity and some hop bitterness. Light-bodied, somewhat thin palate with slightly fizzy carbonation. A quite disappointing, overpriced lemonade in every aspect.

The raspberry flavor is not sweet, but sedate if that makes sense. Has a strange taste to me that can come up either early or late in a mouthful. I’m drinking this with Thirsty Dog Raspberry Ale which is much better.

Nothing too special about this raspberry wheat beer. It has a pretty good nose and the taste is not too overpowering with fruit. It would be a pretty good desert beer. Overall, its just about average
