3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy golden straw pour with ample pillowtop near white head. It was pretty good and had a suprisingly high abv. Starts citrus/lemonzesty but has quite the black peppery kick on the end. Refreshing, but a little syrupy sweetness as well. Not bad, but not something I’d need to seek out again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on draft at 3R6 this beer poured a murky bright orange-peach color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter and tart grapefruit, orange, must, pepper and yeast. The flavor was tart and bitter pepper, chamomile, wildflower, herbs, orange, grapefruit, must and bread. Long finish with ever growing wildflower. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a bottle with a fine bubbled head and a beautifully clear transparent golden color. Smells of hay with a small amount of fruit and citrus. Overall it's quite pungent. Kind of a complex flavor with lots of layers. Starts refreshing with hints of citrus. It then transitions to notes of herb and sweet malt which trails off to a spiciness like a mild hot pepper. I really like it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 bottle- Pours very hazy golden with a one finger bone white head. Aroma is yeasty, lemon zest, spices such as coriander and basil. The taste is similar, yeast, lemon and spices, straw and hay add a farmhouse feel to the beer. Nice straight up saison, was maybe hoping for more, still good. As it sits in the glass things start to blend, mellow, it seems to be growing on me, upping the overall by one and the appearance has held up better than i originally thought upping that by one as well.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: 750 ml bottle from Sparrow, 7/13/14
Aroma: Aroma of fruit and spice, pepper, very much Belgian yeast dominant, some citrus hop too
Appearance: It pours murky gold color with a lasting off-white head and some solid lacing
Flavor: Spice dominant taste, mild sweet, plenty of fruity and funky yeast esters, mid-bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, fairly fizzy on the mouth, with a lots of spice-tingle on the finish
This is an interesting, but ultimately not totally satisfying example of the style. The peppery spice presence really overpowers everything else. I would have preferred a more balanced example of the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/9/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of pale malt, fruity/earthy yeast, and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, pale malt, and spice flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice saison. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spice, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared thanks to Dmac. Pours out a decent golden color with a small off white head. Aroma is of lemon, light spies, grain, hay, light intrusion bitterness. Taste is of lots of lemony citrus, some of it hops, some just citrus peel, spice, light fruity/earthy yeast, pepper, light spices. Solid saison.
