Commercial Description:
Don't let Tripel's light color and delicate aroma fool you, this is one serious beer brewed with maximum effort. First, we introduce freshest barley to crystal filtered water. Second, we add the best hops shipped directly for Europe. Third, our special yeast is the catalyst for fermentation, gobbling sugar and creating alcohol as it works. Some say that the Belgian monks who first brewed this style called it triple to denoted its high alcohol content. Still others believe triple's origins lay in its triple fermentation; twice in the brewery and once in the bottle. Whatever the answer, ours is the Tripel threat.

Tap NY. Clear yellow, white head. Clight cooked corn in the nose, along with a bit of fruitiness. Big and malty, but lots of hops. Nice hoppy finish. Good tripel.

22 oz bottle, cellared 18 months. Foggy cream soda with light white froth. Nose of sweet apple-peach and orange peel with light butterscotch. Sharp carb; buttery then dry and resiny. Taste begins with lemon candies; dried apricots then quinine and pine oil. Lingering alcohol. Grew on me but finish a bit harsh.

Hazy golden color, thick andf firm white head. Fruity, estery, and yeasty. A decent dose of hops for a tripel but it blended well. Smooth and creamy, some alcohol cam e through but it was more of a warm and inviting alcohol warmth than an off putting type. Very good. I went back for thirds.

Clear gold w/ thin ring of frothy white foam. Yeasty, citrusy aroma over a caramel malt background. Thick, medium body. Flavour is yeasty & malty w/ lots of clean, citrusy hops. Finish is quite dry & peppery.

I love Southern Tier and most of their beers but this one ended up being a bit too sweet for the style and what I like.

22 oz bomber. Pours a clear golden honey color with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon, honey, pears, and candy corn. Taste is slightly sweetened like candy sugar with faint hints of spicy autumn apples, yeast and corriander. A weak version of a belgium trippel. Not much dark fruit taste like the better belgiums.

Pretty lame for a tripel. Or a beer in general. A lot of alcohol in the nose, and a lot more in the taste with no real impressive fruit flavors. Wont buy again.
