3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear copper color. The head is a fluffy one-finger off-white shade. It has the typical look I expect from the head of an IPA - good texture, decent retention (not the best among the style, though), and nice lacing left behind.
S: First, I get bittersweet grapefruit with piny hints. The hops also bring some herbal hints. However, itís as malty as I expected - thatís not really a bad thing, though. There is a ton of caramel, toffee, and sugar cookie, also. It might be a bit sweet for me, otherwise the aroma really works well.
T: Just like I expected, itís a sweet IPA. If thereís any proof that a shitload of IBUís (this has 150 supposedly) doesnít equal a bitter beer, this is it. A slight opening of sweet grapefruit and orange gives way to a finish of peach, caramel, toffee; maybe some black pepper, too. Itís faintly boozy, but all that sweetness does a good job of concealing it. There is no bitterness to this at all...I really feel like just a touch more would take this one
M: While it has an initial crisp bite that (along with decent carbonation) helps it go down easily, the sweetness accumulates on the palate. Itís a bit too heavy on the palate, as well. Otherwise,
O: This is so close to being a great DIPA, so close. The malt is handled well, the bitterness is nicely restrained, and the hops have a nice flavor to them. But at the end of the day, itís just too sweet. 22 oz is way too much for this one. Iíll absolutely drink this again, and hopefully, Iíll have someone to split it with.

Transfer from BA review on 8-18-12 -
Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance Ė Served a orange/amber color with a one finger white head. The head faded fast to give a decent level of lacing.
Smell Ė The aroma is heaviest of a sweet and citrus hop aroma. The citrus is mainly grapefruit in nature with the sweet being of a caramel aroma. Mixed with these are other hop aromas of a earthy and piney nature.
Taste Ė The taste begins with some caramel sweetness and a good dose of bread and a citrus hop flavor. As the taste moves on the bready flavor grows stronger and is joined by more hops of a earthy and pine nature. Toward the end the earthy flavors overwhelm the citrus. With this larger earthy taste comes a nice oaky flavor which in the end creates a woody taste that is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel Ė The mouthfeel is slightly higher than average in thickness with a carbonation level that is rather moderate. It is rather fitting for the brewís oaky and hoppy flavors; allowing all the tastes to sit on the tongue and be experienced, but yet giving just enough carbonation to give an invigorating mouthfeel.
Overall Ė A tasty more earthy and woody flavored IPA. A nice one to try.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
amber color; citrusy hop aroma; a great, very hoppy, bitter IPA with lots of citrusy hop character and a medium bodied malt base and warm alcohol notes

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
poured from a 22oz bomber, this is a clear orange color with a nice head. I liked the over-ripe fruit aroma and flavor, though my son (who likes sours) did not. The smell is of ripe apricots or plums or cherries, with a bit of pine or spruce resin added when tasted. Mouthfeel is average carbonation, slightly boozy and a bittersweet aftertaste

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 Poured from 22 ouncer into tulip glass. Translucent amber with thin white head that breaks down quickly. Scent is floral/ pine hops, strong but not overwhelming. Taste is a good balance of sweet/ malty and bitter/ piney hops. Smooth with no boozy flavor. Nice mouthfeel, not too sharp or carbonated. Overall pretty nice beer, pretty close to a perfect DIPA to me.

22 oz bottle is 9.5%. Pours a clear bright orange caramel color with whit head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is malt and a mild piney hop complexity. Flavor is straight ahead dipa. Almost nothing definitive aside from the generalized profile of dipa to set it apart. Maybe itís because I had some Stone RuinTen just before this. A decent beer.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Again, donít get this one. Pours a golden color with white head. Floral on the nose, almost too much so; same for the palate. Was like drinking a flower. Also, finishes way too sweet. Like a sugar bomb.

Bother pour. Clean amber, thin head. Orange, glazed donuts, pine resin and young whiskey on nose. Some great. Medium body. Taste follows. Mild booze. Heat throughout.
