22 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear copper color. The head is a fluffy one-finger off-white shade. It has the typical look I expect from the head of an IPA - good texture, decent retention (not the best among the style, though), and nice lacing left behind. S: First, I get bittersweet grapefruit with piny hints. The hops also bring some herbal hints. However, itís as malty as I expected - thatís not really a bad thing, though. There is a ton of caramel, toffee, and sugar cookie, also. It might be a bit sweet for me, otherwise the aroma really works well. T: Just like I expected, itís a sweet IPA. If thereís any proof that a shitload of IBUís (this has 150 supposedly) doesnít equal a bitter beer, this is it. A slight opening of sweet grapefruit and orange gives way to a finish of peach, caramel, toffee; maybe some black pepper, too. Itís faintly boozy, but all that sweetness does a good job of concealing it. There is no bitterness to this at all...I really feel like just a touch more would take this one M: While it has an initial crisp bite that (along with decent carbonation) helps it go down easily, the sweetness accumulates on the palate. Itís a bit too heavy on the palate, as well. Otherwise, O: This is so close to being a great DIPA, so close. The malt is handled well, the bitterness is nicely restrained, and the hops have a nice flavor to them. But at the end of the day, itís just too sweet. 22 oz is way too much for this one. Iíll absolutely drink this again, and hopefully, Iíll have someone to split it with.

Poured an amber light copper color with aromas of citrus and light pine with some decent makt. Flavors are earthy hops and light pine a touch of bitterness in the aftertaste.

Hoppy citrus and pine hop aroma. Not much flora hops. Excellent mild malts that really did a fantastic job at adding a dimension most IPAs do not have. Everything great but overall impression in the end was excellent.

Pours a clear copper-orange with an average size off-white head. Aroma of resin and citrus hops with some malt. Big hoppy flavour, very well balanced-- delicious. Medium to full bodied.

Well balanced. Nice hoppiness. Not too bitter. Malt notes balance the hops well. Notes of honey in the finish really stick to the palate.

Bottleís DOB is 4/2/2013. Pours a copper color with a white foam head. Aroma is booze, caramel, and some pine hops. Flavor is lots of caramel and resin, with earthy hops and some bitterness. The aging seems to make this more of a barley wine than an ipa.

fraternie (907) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Deftly balanced between its layers of citrusy grapefruit, light caramel malt over a creamy body. Finishes with crisp, grassy hops and a touch of heat, but this is highly drinkable and refreshing for the abv.

660ml served in a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy orange color forming a medium soapy and molasses off white head with good retention and tons of lingering molasses lacings left in the glass. Looking closer, you can see tons of very thin particles suspended in the liquid. S: Wonderful nose. Caramel, sweet malts and piny hops. Biscuity and fruity. Strong notes of grapefruit and orange zest. A bit boozy in the very end but definitely well hidden 9.5% ABV. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and crystal malts. Very piny hops profile. Great and very persistent hops bitterness. Again, great fruity notes: Grapefruit, orange and zest. M: Heavy molasses body. Medium carbonation. Grapefruit, caramel and pine in the aftertaste. O: Excellent drinkability. Masterpiece IIPA.

Bottle from Choice Beverages. Pours a deep amber with a large off white head. The aromas are citrus, grapefruit, pine. The mouthfeel is dry and bitter with a medium body and good carbonation. Cheers!
