Very nice DIPA. Citrus, grass, spruce, caramel, earthy and alcohol (not to strong, and goes down easy). Not the best Imperial I have tasted, but it is up there with some of the best. Enjoyed it.

No bottle date.
A: pours a hazy amber ale with under a single finger of tan foam which falls slowly to a broken sheet of the same with tortuous billows. Ringed lace.
S: This smells like sweet malts and some piny hops. Not much else. I fear this beer sat on the shelves for quite some time. That being said, the base malts smells of caramel and caramelized sugar.
T: Tastes like a sweet American style Barley Wine. Not impressed as an IPA goes. The malts are sweet and toffee like with hints of oxidation which has developed the malt nicely.
M: A hare thin on the body and low on the carb with a small slickness on the finish.
O: Well, I wish I knew the bottle date on this beer. I know itís not particularly new (as Iíve heard theyíve gone through a label change), but nonetheless, I know their beers to be generally sweet. As a result, Iím stuck believing this is relatively along the lines they intended. As an IIPA, this is far from hopped enough.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The appearance is a clear orange color with a large white head, and the aroma is fairly simplistic with only diacetyl and floral hops coming forward. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly sweet. The palate fuses a slick yet buttery texture, medium body, soft carbonation, and a slightly bitter finish.

This is a lesson on good beer and how to do it. I am really not sure I ever had an IPA that has been this good, it fair near brought a tear to my eye, and reminds me that Iíve been drinking a fair bit of rubbish recently and excusing it as good effort, making excuses for it in my head. This should be on your list of beers to try, and more than once.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orange with a off white head. Taste citrus, sweet, floral. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Burnt orange pour with white head. Nose of citrus and pine with caramel and toasted biscuit. Flavor is citrus meat, orange, with bitter rind and soapy pine. Lightly toasted malt and caramel. Moderately dry, bitter finish with orange zest and pine. Good palate presence with light booze. This presents very similar to FFF Dreadnaught, in my mind, at less than half the cost. Certainly a very good DIPA.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 mL at home. Amber colored w/ rather substantial light brown head. Good legs on this one. Definite malt aroma mixed with earthy and floral hops. I love a strong IPA that balances strong hops with sturdy malts. This beer is creamier than I expected without being too heavy on the palate. I really enjoy the mouthfeel, but the finish is quite clean with just a hint of bitterness. Definitely more citrus hops taste-wise than the aroma implied, but they fit nicely and donít draw too much attention to themselves. Really well balanced throughout. This is definitely a household favorite.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Hazy amber with a thin off white head. Grassy, light pine, orange peel, alcohol and buttery crackers. Taste is sweet, but has a dryly bitter-alcohol finish. Moderately heavy, sticky feel.

A very nice surprise. Fantastic aroma and beautiful color out of the bottle, but strong alcohol on first taste. Much better after sitting for ten minutes.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours beautiful dark orange, with solid head and an everlasting lace that clings to the glass very well. Nice leather, woody, malty, earthy aroma. An awesome taste of hops and earth, aged malts. Medium bodied. The good experience I had with this brew makes me forgiving about the rather short and over alcoholic palate.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap. I donít know if I got an old sample or something, but the hop aroma on this was lacking compared to my typical expectations for a double IPA. The taste was very smooth without a lot of astringency with some good malt body and an unobtrusive hop flavor. The alcohol was not apparent in the taste. A pretty refined and drinkable DIPA.
