4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JoeMcPhee (7673) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, - JUL 5, 2006Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Crystal clear amber beer, thich tan head. Aroma is juicy tropical hops, peach, apricot, mango, melon, along with the requisite grapefruit and orange. Amazing hop aroma. Light maltiness in back, but the hops are the star. Flavour is equally tropical and the sweet maltiness accents the hop character nicely. Well-balanced, easy to put back. Feels nothing like 11% ABV.

bottle. Amber with small head. Slight hint of booze with huge hops and bitterness. Seems to be an attempt to just be extreme hop bomb, and hits that mark. A bit harsh.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 NikkTwist (965) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Draft at Moriartys. Tall glass. Top of a keg. Clear deep amber pour. Small bubble frothy white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Thick blonde syrupy body. Starts really, really, really smooth than has a sharp hop bite at the end. Pine resin. Varnish. Caramel. Grapefruit pith. Red pepper. Sweet but not overly so. Sneaks up on you at the end. Very interesting structure to this beer.

22oz bomber. Pours a crystal clear copper color with a thick off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, oranges, with some sweet malts. Taste of bitter pine hops, slight citrus, caramel malt, and candy sugar.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 OKplus (560) - Oklahoma, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Growler served into a Southern Tier tulip.
A - Pours a dark amber with 2 fingers of dense off-white head. Pretty nice lacing left at the top.
S - Sweet cereal grain, doughy bread, candied orange and grapefruit citrus, cotton candy, floral alcohol.
T - Sweet bready malt, caramel, grapefruit syrup. The hops start coming through in sweet citrus flavor and bitterness doesn’t come until the end. Sweet pine resin comes out as it warms. Finishes sweet and semi bitter.
M - Thick body, chewy syrupy feel, sweet.
This is a sweet tooth DIPA. The thicker mouthfeel doesn’t help for said sweetness but it’s never to the point of cloying. It doesn’t always have to be mouth numbing bitter every time and this fits the other side of the spectrum. The hops are there but they can’t fight the heavy handed sweetness. That being said it works for the "BarleyWine meets DIPA Cleche". Their regular IPA on tap was my favorite beer from this brewery.

Sweet aroma of chocolate chip cookies with hop notes; rich feel and Flava notes of hops throughout and a slight roastiness; finishes long and strong.

Light on the hop.. heavy on the alchol. Aroma is alchol. Taste is alchol with a hop finish. No head that last. Just at start of pour then fades. Very much alchol and malt not much on the hop side. So not that great of a double IPA.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MacMoney (792) - Alabama, USA - MAY 26, 2013
660ml bottle. 09/05/13. Pours a deep, auburn amger with a decent-sized, beige head. Aroma is greenish hops, exotic fruits, quite resinous. Caramel, nettles and fruitiness. Semisweet. Taste is rather sweet, loads of caramel, resin and nettles. Fruitily sweet, dries up on the finish. Full, somewhat carbonated. Delicious.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hopper (818) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2013
22 oz. bottle. Bottled on 4/29/13, so about 3 weeks old. Pours a golden brown. The aroma has a little grassiness, and some biscuity malt flavors. For the most part it is a massive let down for a Double IPA. The taste strikes a balance of malt and hops, though it’s more of a malty approach. This is more about the malt than the hops. Severely dissapointed and unfortunately since they just arrived in TX it will be another mediocre beer taking up shelf space.
