4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The only way I can describe this is near-identical to Pumpking except with a delicious addition of roasted malt. This is a must-try!

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. The pour is light. It's a ruby-ish black. Clear, and you can see light through it. Not a good start. The head is white, thin, and leaves little lace. The aroma reminds me of Pumking. There is a blast of pumpkin and then it fades through a little bit of an oatmeal phase and it's just a wonderful aroma. The flavor is just as good. The pumpkin is pretty awesome and I love the balance with the roastyness and oatmeal characteristics of the stout. It's definitely thin for an imperial and that's where it takes most of its knocks. The mouth feel is decently thick and coating with a lingering finish to the flavors

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a tan head. The aroma has licorice, pumpkin, wood, and slight bourbon quality. It has a full body with thick texture and average carbonation. The taste is roasted and lightly bitter with a dry, alcohol finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: † Deep brown, nearly black, ruby highlights, thin frothy tannish head, spotty lacing. † Sweaty graham cracker nose, faint cinnamon and nutmeg, along with a non-descript graham cracker. † Has a strong spicy graham cracker nose, backed by pie crust, pumpkin pie, and slight cool whip. † Not too heavy, but has a strong pie influence. † Reminds me of what Pumking was when I first tried it. † Very much smells and tastes like Pumpkin Pie at this point. † Spices are nutmeg and cinnamon, with a little crust, but overall its like smelling and tasting a pumpkin pie. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † Doesnít ever come across as rich or thick. † Not all that roasty, or Imperial Stout like. † Really does remind me of the original Pumking. † Pie pie and some more pie!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle. DOB: 10/16/13 (I think). Pours a clear deep mahogany with a thick khaki head. Caramel, a roasted graininess, toasted malts, cola, pumpkin pie, cinnamon graham crackers, dark chocolate, and some coffee in the aroma. Medium body. Rich chocolatey flavors and creamy pumpkin pie dominate the initial taste. Caramel, cola, and cinnamon graham crackers follow. Toasted grains and bitter coffee at the end. Wintry spices and a fair amount of warming alcohol are present throughout. Doesnít quite seem like an imperial stout - I feel like Iíd rate this even higher if it was in another category. Seems like forever since Iíve had something from Southern Tier. They still donít disappoint! An excellent dessert beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not as "pumpkiny" as Southern Tier Imperial Pumking and that is a good thing in my opinion. This is a nice fall themed beer with hint of pumpkin, not as intensely pumpkin as other pumpkin beers.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
chocolate, medium sweetness, light sweetness, minimal head, black, medium body. Pumpkin ales are something I avoid as a rule, but Southern Tier has a winner with this imperial stout. The pumpkin flavor finish is quite pleasant while not cloying. Tried this first at Willibrew in Willimantic, CT - my thanks to them for pointing me to it!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Black cat colored with a circle of light brown foam and bubbles at the top. Aroma is a blend of pumpkin pie spice, graham cracker, roasted nuts and licorice. The flavor delivers a heavy dose of nutmeg, cardamom and pumpkin pie at the start followed by notes of brown sugar, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with average carbonation and a burnt, dessert spiced finish. Tastes more like an Imperial Stout-inspired Pumpkin Ale than the other way around. Worth trying for Pumking aficionados.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste pumpkin, slightly sweet. I thought this so so. I could drink this again.
