3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bomber. Pours dark brown almost black with minimal head. Smell is all pumpkin...kind of like carrot cake. Taste follows with dry malty finish. Not bad but too much pumpkin for me.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a branded stem glass. Pours clear mahogany-chestnut with a moderate tan head that fades slowly and leaves trace fine lace. The nose has huge notes of pumpkin, along with softer ginger and cinnamon; these are paired with subtler chocolate and roasted malt, espresso and English hops. The flavour is intensely spicy throughout, with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. These flavours are dominant over espresso, chocolate and roasted malts. The finish is long and spicy with ginger and a slight pepperiness. On the palate it is medium in body with a dryish texture and average carbonation. Overall, an interesting imperial stout with a strong pumpkin pie character. For me, the spices are too dominant, effectively masking the other components of the beer. I could see how a bigger fan of pumpkin beers might appreciate this. 2015-01-08

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 oz bomber given to me as a gift for Halloween. The pour is black brown with ruby highlights, along with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is ginger, pumpkin pie spice, pretty strong with some licorice present in the finish as well. The taste is chalky, char malt, along with the pumpkin pie spice and a bright cardamon. The finish has some of the licorice and booze. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with active carbonation and big cardamom and pumpkin booze in the finish. Weird beer, not at all my sort of thing.

Black pour dominate pumpkin with roasted malt nose. Taste follows smell with mild hop bite on end. Different take that’s pleasing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of pumpkin meat, pine spices, buttered toast, light coco, light roasted malts, and sweet malts. Taste is roasted malts, pumpkin, coco, coffee, pie spices, sweet malts, and molasses. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium-long finish. Overall, a pretty tasty pumpkin stout that I wish I had for Thanksgiving dessert.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2014 On tap (10 oz) @ Parker Pie. Split 2-ways with czar, but to be fully honest Franky Boy chugged 2/3 of the glass.
Appearance: Amber brown with a small ring of beige foam and little lacing.
Aroma: Repulsive mix of hazelnut, booze, pumpkin, nutmeg and cola-like notes.
Taste: Surprisingly, it doesn’t taste like poison. A lot of nutmeg, hazelnut, booze and pumpkin shares the scene in a completely unbalanced way. The good thing is that it’s bad enough you probably won’t reach the point where it begin to be cloying.
Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Lingering horrendous spicy finish.
Overall: Another gross creation which only Southern Tier have the secret (please don’t share it). I wouldn’t recommend drinking more than 1 oz of this beer considering Franky Boy’s farts later that day, but hey it’s not like his farts smell the roses when he only drink water... so take this advice with a grain of salt.

on tap at parker pie, vt. unclear light brown, mahogany hue, little to no head. hazelnut-plenty, coca-cola, strong woodsy and almost tannic notes, awkwardly nutmeg- plenty, cherry coke, other miscellaneous red fruitiness, cheap fruitcake, other cheap spices. light carbonation, medium body - oily, boozy and harsh woodsy-spicy finish. horrid stuff.
