Bomber. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown- near black- with a tan head that does not last. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice, doughy bread, and creamy chocolate. Flavor is the same with a light warmth in the finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouth feel. It is as expected, a darker, creamier Pumpking. Well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black body with fleeting tan head. Pumpkin pie spice, roasted pumpkin seed, pumpkin meat aromas. Medium body with average carbonation. Light phenolic, astringent clove, peppery flavors with pumpkin meat, dark roast malt, earthy molasses ___a bit thin but good.

Bottle. Very nice pumpkin and spice aroma, absolutely delicious. Flavour mostly matches, fortunately - nice blend of stout and pumpkin pie. But not incredible. Preferred the He Said.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reviewed from notes. Rcvd in trade.
This was poured into a snifter and a pint glass. There weren’t any significant differences in either glass.
The appearance starts off with a fairly decent darkened brown leading to some light black edges. The head was an off-white to white lumpy glossy one finger’s worth of creaminess. This must have lasted for at least a good minute and a half before it gently dissipated and left a nice light glazing lightly coating the glasses.
The aroma, well, it was like Pumking but way better as it let the stout-like qualities of roasty bitter coffee invade the pumpkin pie qualities of Pumking.
The taste was roasty and sweet from the Pumking invasion. There was a slight Pumking-like aftertaste with a dry roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium and didn’t have much sessionability to it. Yup, I was sipping this one. The carbonation seemed on par for the style.
Overall, though I’ve never been a fan of Pumking, this one is actually way better than Pumking as it allows way more roastiness invading at a fairly decent rate on the nose and taste. I’d probably have this again.

Rated from notes taken 27 Dec 2013 -- A better version of Pumking. At the time this was my #3 favorite pumpkin beer. But not I believe it is either #4 or #5.

A very good imperial stout from Southern Tier. Had to try after Pumking and I wasn’t let down. Very tasty.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Think thanks to jdb288: Served in a Duvel glass:
Medium to smaller sized creamy light brown foamy head on top of a deep dark beer. Deep red ruby when held into a light source.
Aromas if ginger bread, prunes, cookies, prunes pie, some white peppery tones, plums and figs.
Flavours of ginger bread with some pepper, bitters, yeast, prunes and figs. Unbalanced flavours.
Aftertaste is ginger bread with bitters, oat, prunes, light wood and a light peppery tone...
Low carbo, creamy close to silky yet spicy mouthfeel, medium to fuller yet unbalanced body and a creamy texture.
Unbalanced and don’t like the aromas and flavours. Personay think it’s a mess...

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle- Pours very dark brown to black with a a one finger head that reduces. Aroma is pumpkin pie spice and real baked pumpkins, so intense and creamy. The taste is similar, pumpkins and spices, it tastes like pumpkin pie, delicious, roasted malts are there but subdued by the spices and pumpkin. I absolutely love the Pumking, and this is a perfect companion.

Looks like Dr pepper with a small tan head and good lacing.
Lots of spices. Clove and pumpkin pie filling some nutmeg a tiny bit of roasty malts. Avg palate. Flavor is quite sweet pumpkin pie with chocolate on top. Too sweet for me but interesting to try.
