UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Deep brown, edging on black with a khaki foam that settles quickly to a collar. Aroma is very nice; warm nutmeg, cinnamon spice, crispy graham cracker, light ginger, & a hint of roast & cocoa underneath. Taste is similar with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, graham cracker, & finishing cocoa. There’s an inherent bitterness I could do without, almost like a heavy dirt or ash with high astringency. The aroma is kick ass, though. It smells like I want it to taste, but it doesn’t taste "stout-y" enough for me. Still resembles regular Pumking too much on the palate, with only slight "stout" notes & an unwarranted harshness about it.

Jet black with a solid head. Chocolate malt aroma. Then there is the raw pumpkin taste, all vegetable and no pie. The sweetness of the malt and lactose moderate the bite of the pumpkin. However, I am had hoped for more secondary spices to come forward to add flavor to the pumpkin. All in all, a decent stout mixed with pumpkin without purpose.

This one grew on me very slowly. I had to drink it three times before I actually liked it. The pumpkin spice flavor is agreeable but tastes very artificial as well. Almost like a kids drink. Has a nice chestnut flavor from the malts though. Glad I tried it but won’t get again probably. Spicy though which was cool with a stout

Bottle to beer tulip. The pour is dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is complete pumpkin pie spice and roast. The taste is very similar with a decent base stout a bit overpowered by the spice. The finish is decently carbed and slick. Not the best pumpkin stout but not the worst. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. A black pour, nearly opaque, thin tan head. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate. Semi-sweet dark chocolate, pumpkin, coffee, cream (like whipped), cinnamon, and a little butter. Just a touch of bitterness. Finish is sticky.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark reddish black color with a small white head. A big sweet spicy gingerbread nose. The flavor is dominated by spices, pumpkin, light roast. Pretty big. Dry and spicy. Nice. A bit unbalanced.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a thin creamy tan head. The aroma is pumpkin, coffee, and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is pumpkin, spices, chocolate, and a weak coffee note. I’m not really feeling this one.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a quickly disappearing beige frothy to creamy head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of pumpkin and buttery pie crust. Lightly bitter taste, strongly dominant buttery pumpkin flavor and light spices. Average to soft carbonation, light to medium body, oily feel and a brief bitter finish.

Bottle... Pours clear and black with flashes of mahogany and a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is every bit as rich and decadent as Southern Tier’s Pumking, but also offers notes of dark chocolate and fudge. Medium to full-bodied with modest carbonation. The flavor is a rich, buttery, spicy-sweet fusion of Pumking and a generous measure of roasty bitterness. Lengthy, moderately bitter finish.

Southern Tier knows how to make a pumpkin beer. That is undeniable with this beer. I poured this from a bomber and the color was not as dark as I’d expect from an imperial stout. There was some lighter brown coloring around the edges, but for the most part it was black. The aroma was amazing though with tons of spice and sweetness on the nose. This has an aroma that almost rivals that of their Creme Brule. The taste was sweet and close to that of pumpkin pie. I love this one.

Bottle. Black colored pour tan head. Pumpkin like aroma, spices, cinnamon, roasted malts. Taste is sweet but not too sweet. It reminds me of a dark version of pumpking (which i think is what this is supposed to be). Not over the top; easy to drink, and one of the first imperial stouts that my wife actually liked. Good beer.
