COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial stout brewed with pumpkins Warlock is brewed to enchant your palate on its own and also to counterpoint our Imperial Ale, Pumking. Make your own black magic by carefully pouring this Imperial Stout into a goblet.

Dark and mysterious, the Blackwater Series is serious about high gravity. Reanimate your senses with Warlock’s huge roasted malt character, moderate carbonation and spicy pumpkin pie aroma.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Deep brown, edging on black with a khaki foam that settles quickly to a collar. Aroma is very nice; warm nutmeg, cinnamon spice, crispy graham cracker, light ginger, & a hint of roast & cocoa underneath. Taste is similar with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, graham cracker, & finishing cocoa. There’s an inherent bitterness I could do without, almost like a heavy dirt or ash with high astringency. The aroma is kick ass, though. It smells like I want it to taste, but it doesn’t taste "stout-y" enough for me. Still resembles regular Pumking too much on the palate, with only slight "stout" notes & an unwarranted harshness about it.

On tap. Black with one finger off white head. Roasted, pumpkin, nutmeg aroma. Taste is slightly artificial, but still it is good and not too sweet.

Pours dark brown with a beige head. The aroma has meaty rich pumpkin, graham crackers, smooth roast, nutmeg and pumpkin pie filling. It has a fairly full body with lots of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts off with the aroma aspects, earthy / minty hops and some woodiness. The finish is graham crackers and wood. Pretty nice.

22oz bottle. Smells glorious, seriously beautiful. Sadly taste doesn’t live up. Not much pumpkin flavor but does hit u with aroma after swig. Kinda tastes like charcoal, dirt or metal. Basically, taste is off.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet. 22oz bomber (x2). Pours black, red tinge. Off white head, thin ring of retention. Minimal lacing. Aroma is spice, overwhelmingly autumnal. Sweet, warm. Flavor is much the same. Basically Pumpking with more roasted malt, and a dark attitude. Would pair well with vanilla bean ice-cream. A classic.

I absolutely loved this beer. As soon as I opened the bottle the fragrant spices and pumpkin hit me. Also has some hints of cocoa and caramel in the aroma. Pours a dark brown color with a relatively small khaki head. Excellent flavors of pumpkin and spices up front, finishing with chocolate and molasses. Just the slightest touch of alcohol is present. Very light bodied for an Imperial Stout but it suits this beer well. I’m not really sure I’d classify this as an Imperial Stout, it’s kind of like a cross between an Imperial Pumpkin Ale and a stout (not of the imperial order).

Bottle to tulip glass for this one. Deep dark color, little head. Interesting stout with pumpkin flavor. Not too sweet. Not to much spice. An interesting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep dark brown from a bottle, slightly rummy, cola and pumpkin smell. Dry pumpkin flavor, deep roastiness but not smoked, bitter without being offputting. Very good beer.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear very dark mahogany brown color, bubbly tan 1" head, streamers of lace. Aroma of spices and pumpkin mixed with a little pumpkin. Taste opens with overbearing spicy malt and pumpkin. On the swallow, the spice ebbs away, leaving light cocoa and somewhat bitter pumpkin, alleviating the need for much hop bittering. At the opening, it leaves me unimpressed. By the finish, it has redeemed itself nicely.
