COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial stout brewed with pumpkins Warlock is brewed to enchant your palate on its own and also to counterpoint our Imperial Ale, Pumking. Make your own black magic by carefully pouring this Imperial Stout into a goblet.

Dark and mysterious, the Blackwater Series is serious about high gravity. Reanimate your senses with Warlock’s huge roasted malt character, moderate carbonation and spicy pumpkin pie aroma.

Has that buttery quality of other ST Stouts and Pumking. Spice notes. Cocoa. Pretty solid tasting but doesn’t hold up past a few sips.

2014-03-21. Black body moderate head. 3+ Aroma is sweet with a lot of pumpkin pie spice, touch of vanilla and/or hazelnut. 8+ Flavour is sweet up front, mild spice, very light roast and vanilla. Smooth bodied palate, modest carbonation. Nice stuff. Like Pumpking with a touch of stout. Bottle shared by Blankboy

651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, with some lacing, over a clear ruby brown (SRM 25) body....nose is roasted malts with cocoa, nutty tones reminiscent of almond, roasted pumpkin, light spice, minimal hops....taste is slight sweet malts, with light hints of dried fruits, almond extract, roasted pumpkin, mild allspice, hints of cocoa, minimal esters, finishing slightly dry, with mild spice hop bitterness.....mouth feel medium body, mild stickiness, slight alcohol warmth, mild acid on the finish. This is a deftly made beer. The spices and pumpkin were gently used resulting in a beer with intrigue rather than domination. This is probably a spice/herb vegetable beer not an Imperial Stout by BJCP guidelines. Rating as an Imperial. BJCP 6/3/12/4/6

Bottle - Pumpkin, chocolate and roast malts. Jet black with a rich beige head. Pumpkin, spice, bitter and a bit starchy. Starts good, but ends bad.

[My bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel] Pours ruby-brown, almost black, with an average size diminishing frothy light-brown head. Aroma: Nice! Lots of pumpkin along with roasted malt, cream and chocolate. Flavour has lots of pumpkin, lots of spice and roastiness and finally, a spicy bitter finish. Medium bodied. I really like this but a little goes a long way.

Bottle, pours black with a tan head, nice aroma of spice and pumpkin pie, tastes sweet with flavors of tasted malt with spices and pumpkin. One of my favorite imperials.

Bottle from Wegman’s bill town. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Has a bit of pumpkin on the nose. Can’t say that the pumpkin and the stout is completely convincing for me as a combo. Finishes clean. Eh!

I rate this highly because I enjoy the originality. It’s a perfect pumpkin stout. Pumpkin ales tend not to be stouts, and vice versa. The brewers here went out on a limb ...and it works!

Tap at Mackenzie. Served in a flute like glass. Dark black color. Quickly dissipating head. Aroma is sweet with hints of roasted coffee or cocoa. Vanilla and some caramel. Not an overly aggressive stout. A really smooth flavor with a sweet complexity. Pumpkin pie prevalent. I would definitely recommend it.

Aroma: roasty chocolate and coffee Appearance: black, minimal head, tan foam, feint lacing Taste: Deep, rich chocolate with caramel and vanilla, hints of black coffee, vanilla and nutmeg cinnamon spice, gradually giving way to pumpkin. Remarkable! Palate: full body, creamy, sticky, thick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, Overall: A perfect imperial stout

I am a huge fan of Pumking and thus when I first heard about this beer I was anxious to taste it. Southern Tier Pumking meets chocolate stout... A deliciously smooth combination of aroma, flavor and appearance. Instantly one of my favorites. I highly recommend this beer to enthusiast and beer lovers all over.
