(On tap in Hamden, called "Hamden Red") Weird. A very unpleasant aroma is present. Weak, but too thick and too sweet. No bitterness. Undrinkable.

Pours a cooper color with a very small, almost flat looking head. The aroma was sweet and carmel like. It tasted sweet as well but was watery and not full bodied or balanced. So-so.

Draught. Slightly cloudy amber pour with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Taste of toffee, malt and faint nuts. Nice even, slightly bitter finish. Best offering tried so far.

tap at the brewery in southport. Nice rich deep amber color. a very flavorless, watery taste that finishes bitter carmel and lingers. I have no idea how this won a bronze medal at the world beer championships... unless there were 3 contenders.

dark copper body, dark, but clear. Aroma was of caramel and hops. Flavor seemed to be of some sweet caramel and a bitter finish. Which at times seemed sour but the beer was never unpleasant. crisp and medium bodied. alright brew.
