3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growley RI - Lacey head. Aroma was not obnoxiously hoppy but the hops did dominate. Seems like for hops were used for flavor and bittering than in the nose which let the malt come through a bit more.

Sold to me as Builder’s Arm IPA... again... make up your mind. Deep copper color. Clean and clear. No head. Aroma is light. Flavor is more sweet than hoppy. In the finish, some nice hoppiness comes out. Not my favorite.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
I can honestly say this was one of the plainest ipas ive ever tried. Pours a clear dark yellow orange with slight fizzy whitish head. Aroma is just kinda sweet grains with tad bit of floral notes. Flavor is plain malt with tad floral hops. Very very boring, not worthy of the label IPA.

Some hop elements on the nose. Pours a light copper. Not a lot of differentiation on the tongue. There’s some hoppiness but it just lays there. Finishes slightly tart.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Hamden as "Sleeping Giant IPA": Aroma of floral hops, caramel, and vinyl. Pored amber with a hint of copper in color and a small, creamy, off-white head. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor of light grapefruit, light hops, caramel, East Kent Goldings, and a hint of chocolate malts. Medium body. Dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Dry, sweet hop finish.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Southport location. It certainly has a more grainy aroma then hoppy but the hops are there. The hops were more in the taste then in the aroma. It was smooth but had little for a full bodied flavor. Drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2008 Rerate, much better this time with a fresh pur than a week old growler.
Draught. Copper pour with a tiny white head. Mild hoppy aroma with a hint of pine. Peppery hops present with flowery hops. Nice sharp finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(On tap in Hamden, called "Sleeping Giant IPA") Interesting. Somewhat rich and creamy. A bit toasty, malty. Nice body. Unique. But not even remotely resembling an IPA; way too weak, not enough hops, not enough bitterness. A drinkable beer, but very misnamed.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Caramel color, caramel aroma. Sweet and hoppy flavor, some citrus. Smooth medium body drink that seemed to be a little thin at times.
