cervmagpt (593) - PORTUGAL - NOV 25, 2015
Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 4C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 01-15. AROMA: slight acidic aroma remembering a gueuze, mixed with sweet malt notes and some fruitiness. no hop aroma. APPEARANCE: deep gold color and very hazy. small white head with poor retention. TASTE: sweet flavour with a pronunced fruity profile. almost no bitterness, remebering a poorly attenuated beer. PALATE: medium to medium-low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: an odd helles bock batch.

750ml swing-top bottle from Baptista Supermarket, Luz, Portugal. Pale golden in colour with a quickly disappearing thin white head of foam. It has a yeast and spicy apricot flavour, herbal and floral fruity notes followed by warming, slight soapy, sherry-like finish. Pretty nice but not really like a Bock beer.
