Wenig hopfiger, malzig süßlicher Antrunk. Die milde Süße bleibt vorhanden und damit auf noch angenehmem Niveau. Zum Mittelteil würziger, deutlich hopfiger, frisch. Klebrig hopfiger Abgang, dunkel herb, dezenter Alkohol. 9/9/8/9/8/9

Idiosynkrasie (4088) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 21, 2013
330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy aroma with a strawy touch, some caramel, a honey touch. Taste is minimally sweet malty, slightly strawy, intense, almost biting, bitter hoppy overtones. Intense hop makes this a very drinkable Bock.

BeerViking (2686) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2014 33cl bottle, thanks to Erlangernick, golden with a lacing head, malty peppery nose, dry and crisp, almost acrid bitter edge, more like a strong dry Pilsner than a Hellerbock. Faint floral notes, a herbal finish, and some warming alcohol, otherwise no great depth or complexity. Re-rate: now 6 months past its best-before, a bit of age seems to have smoothed things out nicely - the herbal edge is still there, but it’s more honeyed overall and the bitterness is more balanced. Nice stuff.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Mildly biscuity malty aroma with a tinge of honey and grassy hops in the background. Mildly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly strawy and delicately biscuity (cara-)malt character with delicately grassy hoppy accents; almost dry-ish mildly sweet and bitter hoppy finish. 27.VII.13

Bottle (with a nice label, showing a little steam engine ( model range 98.3), that was used on the branch line Spalt-Georgensgemünd and was called "Spalter Bockl"):Golden with a greenish sheen, visible carbonation, stable loose white head, moderate grainy to bisquity nose, backed by a certain amount of hayish hops; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, chewy and medium bodied; extremely lingering bitter and bisquity finish. Very satisfying stuff…
