#244 Goldgelbes Pils mit reichlich feinporigem Schaum; schöne Blume. Leicht grasig-hopfiges Aroma. Frisch und leicht im Antrunk. Der Geschmack ist primär hopfig; das Malz kaum vernehmbar. Der Körper wird im Abgang immer trockener. Ein klassisches Pils! Test vom 8.3.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,12,12,10,12 - 11,75

edpeg (848) - Berlin, GERMANY - SEP 27, 2012
Light yellow clear body with creamy lacing white head. Aroma is potato, grass, some spices. Palate is soft smooth mouthful. Carbonation soft. Taste is malty with fresh herbal hoppy medium bitter note. Finish is floral, slightly fruity and has good amount of hoppiness. Slight paper flavor in there too. Overall pretty good, with special hops flavor, giving the beer some original taste. Clean and good pils.

5 straight days of drinking Spalter biers... Pours a nice yellow color. Nothing too incredible in terms of taste but a good brew. Taste like a lot of other German beers but having it out of kegs from the brewery was better than when I have had it in the bottle.

EithCubes (5197) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 18, 2012
Bottle marked 04.10.12. Lightly grassy nose, light malt leaning toward corn. Very pale clear yellow body with lots of carbonation and a soapy bright white head. Taste is only lightly sweet with light bitterness but some juicy noble hops. Dries out and picks up some metal with time, faint bread, light body, a little different than most German Pilsner, and worth a go.

motelpogo (7173) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - JUN 18, 2012
Bottled. A good example of a dryish franconian pils - light golden with a hint of the longed-for greenish tinge; prickly aroma; a decent whack of bitterness, both grassy and tinny. Very easy to drink

Braudog (5966) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - DEC 10, 2011
Draft in Nürnberg. Drinks like any of hundreds of anonymous German pilsners -- it’s not noteworthy necessarily, but cleanly and technically well made, and good enough that I had a few and enjoyed them thoroughly with my big plates of salty German food. (#4382, 12/1/2011)
