[tap at Brauhaus Spandau as Havelbrau Hell] Opaque peach colour, large white head. Some wheat sweetness, but also lemon, like a mild sweet lemonade. Very smooth and mild on the palate, good mouthfeel. Highly drinkable, not much evidence of alcohol on the flavour. Unfined, but little yeast profile on the flavour other than a slight marzipan edge to the finish. Really very nice indeed, had three of these interspersed with the schwartzbier [19042012]

On tap at Hell oder Dunkel as ’Naturbier Hell’. Hazy golden with a rocky, creamy bright white head and lace. Pleasanlty malty and spritzy nose. Lots of crisp carbonation, lightly malty taste with some mild yeasty-fresh bread at the finish. Just a touch of citrus and maybe a little mint. Low bitterness, low sweet fruitiness, med-full body. Too much for sessioning but like it well enough.

On draft at ’Hell oder Dunkel’. Hazy, honey-golden body with meringue-like white head that jiggles and hangs around. Floral noble hop aroma is dominant followed by bright, summery malt that moves into honeyish territory. Malt flavor is sweet - again in the direction of honey - with a noticeable grainy quality that approaches cereal. Light berryish esters are present and hops are there in the background. Medium body with fairly high, prickly carbonation. A little chalky. Malt forward, but hop bitterness washes through at the end. Light mineral presence in the finish. Good beer!

Beer No. 45 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy orange coloured, small white head, mild malty fruity nose. Sweet malty, pleasant hoppy and fruity with soft grainy notes in the finish. Refreshing and easy-drinkable beer.

Leicht nach Käse riechend. Aromatisch hopfiger Antrunk mit sehr leichter Bitternote. Ehrlich und aromatisch, hopfig, leicht süß, zusammen mit der Getreidigkeit vollmundig. Etwas herb-malziger Abgang, weitestgehend vom Hopfen dominiert. Test vom 23.9.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 11,12,12,12,-,12 - 11,89

Oakes (13272) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 16, 2011
Cloudy tan with a thick head. The aroma is fresh and as usual for Berlin fairly doughy - lightly spicy, vaguely fruity. Relatively sweet but a bit watery & refreshing. Good basic brew.

Draft @ brewpub. Pretty luminescent warm honey tangerine with nice lacing. Yeasty, boggy, mushroom aroma with slight pedio. Thick palate from the yeasty body. Slightly sticky but drinkable. Tangerine, marzipan, interesting.
