copper-colored, not much of a head to speak of, fairly hoppy aroma, decent bitterness, pretty average pale.

Just incredible. my favorite APA. NO CARBONATION in the bottle. thats good enough for me. seriously though, this is a great hearty ale, with plenty of fresh apple taste. Dry and crisp. everything an APA should be. hard to compare to Sierra’s Pale ale as this one is nowhere near as hoppy. but i didnt mind that at all.

Had this on tap in Monterey, CA ... go figure. Golden honey color. Very faint nose. Overall a very mellow pale ale - light hops, not much malt - a bit bitter on the finish. Fairly average in my opinion.

Served at 50.0°F it yields a bready start well backed by a hoppy bitterness. Although the description says ’Pacific Northwest Hops’, it doesn’t taste/smell like Cascades or Willamettes as much as EKGs. At 55° a little hop oxidation is startig to show, trace metallic/minerals emerge. It’s got body, but the aromas and flavors in this hard hitting American Pale Ale category are not up to par. This gets a slightly below average score.

weak but flavorful aroma, a very nice amber red color. the flavor full bodied, however the hoppy after taste is out of balance with the citric flavor.

Not a lot of hop aroma. Slight bitterness in the body. A drinkable beer, but pretty average.

Better than their amber. In the CPA style, good hop bite in the finish. Hint of sugar detectable. Pretty good pale ale overall.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2003 great pale ale!!! this one rivals that of the Sierra Nevada. Great hoppy finish that is crisp and not to overpowering. Another beer i bought in a build-your-own 6 pack. glad I tried it :) ReRate 3/8/02-not as good as i previously rated-has a somewhat skunky nose and a very bitter finish, more like an ESB than an APA. Definately not up to par as the Sierra nevada

Feint hop aroma in this modestly carbonated pale ale. Exceptionally sweet-hopped body--and perfect on the palate for a pale ale--having superb balance and overall qualities. This beer definitely held my interest and will make a great summer session beer. The best pale ale I have experienced to date.
