COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

This is not impressive. It reminded me a lot of Heineken, which is also not impressive. It was slightly bitter and very pale. Not my first choice in beer. I will pass next time.

hopscotch (10076) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2004
Crystal clear, straw-colored lager with a medium-sized, frothy, white head. Diminishes to a small, creamy, well-retained head with great, weeping lacework. The nose is skunky and metallic. The only thing pleasant about the aroma is a touch of lemon. Flavor is non-descript. Ultra light-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Short, dry finish. Not good!

Pours pale golden, light malt aroma. Lots of carbonation, crisp finish. Perfect lawnmower beer.

Although this beer comes from the same makers of Franziskaner beer this lager is mediocre at it best. Regular taste. Regular flavor. Regular aroma. Nothing extraordinary in it.

Surprisingly uninteresting. Possibly Americanized? Possibly just that lager does not travel well, and I had this one half way around the world from its home. Slightly skunky nose, watery palate, average golden color with head that vanished immediately. Tastes like a light beer with good hops.

A pretty head on a golden colored beer is all to be expected. Average malt/hop aroma with a balanced flavor of hops and malt. I'm sure this is much better on the other side of the pond where it would be tasted while fresh.

Pale gold, good head retention. Mildly malty aroma, not much though. Flavour was slightly malty but had a tiny bit of sourness which was really inappropriate for mine. Beaten out by Lowenbrau - hardly a ringing endorsement.

Clear and golden with a slight head. Clean malty aroma. Malty flavor with that big long malty finish that is typical in German beers.Quaffable, but not as good as Ayinger.

Yellow in color. Small white head. Has a decent maltiness followed by a slight sweetness. a medium hopping is present. Has a dry and almost citrus finish. Had a little more flavor than i was expecting. Not bad for the style.

Clear straw color with a small tight head. Aroma is malty and slightly toasty. Flavors are initially malty and sweet with subtle fruity hints. Finish is crisp and hoppy. Not bad, but not my favorite style.
