COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

Bottled: Light yellow coloured. Not much head. Aroma is light hoppy and has some malty notes. Flavour is a little vague. Sweet and ends with some hoppy bitterness.

poured vom Faß at the Löwenbräu Keller by some guy in a blacksmith outfit for no apparent reason. at first light and fluffy with dry herbal hop flavour, then firm and chocolatey pale malt. you think the malt's never going to go away, then a little spike of crisp hops turns up. a very drinkable and pleasant lager, but a bit on the dull side. well balanced blabla. texture's nice and creamy.

A yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is primarily hoppy but also malty - a very fresh nose. The flavor is sweet containing brewmash notes and a nice aroma hop. Very much like a good czech beer - very nice soft pilsener.

A classic German pilsener, in my opinion. A little bitter in the end, otherwise a bit too watery and thin.

It smelled pretty bad like moldy clothes or something, but the taste was amazingly smooth with no bitterness. Overall I thought it was a decent brew.

Ya know, this was actually very good compared to what i was expecting. The bottle was green and the price was cheap so i feared the worst. But this actually turned out well...the aroma was the only scary part as hops and stale hops mingled with cold glass to form a strange grainy and skunky quality with a saving hint of malt. It pours with a total goldeny yellow with heavy carbonation and a quickly dissipating but initially thick soapy white head. The taste is very simple, flowing, and crisp...a nice simple hop flavor with a reinforcing malt undertone...very smooth and light with little underlying flavors other than those mentioned. Syrupy like hops and an almost wet ending..not the usual drying expected from a lager. Good mouthfeel, not overwhelming...simple but effective lager which is put together surpisingly well.

One of my all-time favorites. A great lager that goes well with practically anything. Smooth on the taste buds and a terrific after taste going down. Easily one of the best imports I've ever tried.

Straw gold color with an even large white head. Slight skunk, light straw odor. Light ,clean, smooth. A good import pils.

A good crisp beer on par with Hansa and St. Pauli Girl.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2003 Typical lager and nothing really special. Golden color with a lemon flavor. Decent body and a crisp taste. Overall a pretty good lager but nothing I would really go out of my way for though.
