3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass.
A: Pours a crystal clear golden straw color. I love how translucent the body is, in particular. The head is a two finger white shade; retention isn’t the best, but there’s some really nice lacing left on the glass.
S: Aye, it’s a bit skunked (lol, green bottles), but it could have been worse. The notes of pale malts, faint sweetness, and zesty hops aren’t dulled in any significant capacity.
T: At first, some of the hop profile comes through with notes of grass and lemon zest, but the finish is pure, balanced, simple malt goodness. In particular, it has a nutty flavor that I really enjoy (that, and the diacetyl is kept in check). Personally, I want more hops; but I won’t complain about the balance this offers.
M: Not quite as bone dry as I like my lagers to be - nor is it too sweet. The texture does the best it can to provide good drinkability without significant hoppiness.
O: Green bottles mean I wouldn’t buy this one again. However, I would seek it out on tap. An under-appreciated lager unfortunately scorned both by its bottle color and by who makes it.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours light yellow with skimpy white head. Strong grassy aroma with notes of DMS. Taste is bland with dry aftertaste, minimally bitter. Light mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Overall tastes like cheap beer fit for resuscitation of the masses. Goes down easily and best consumed cold, which isn't a compliment. Won't buy again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light gold, white head. Malt aroma, grains, hay. Taste again sweetish Munich malt, grainy, grass and hay. Low amount of bitterness. Light to medium body. Nothing spectacular but very nicely done and hits the spot every time. My go-to Helles.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle, 5.2%. Pours clear golden with a white head that doesn’t last. Refreshing barley malt flavoured beer. Half decent but nothing original about it. Fairly average lager

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml Bottle from Reilly’s (Lisnaskea - £1.79):
Quite a nice lager without really doing much to stand out from the crowd, being from Germany is almost enough to elevate it above most lagers you’re likely to try in the UK but it is by no means a classic. It had enough going for it to keep you interested and the crisp finish was particularly pleasing but it’s not a beer I’d go out of my way to track down again.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Decently balanced beer. Golden yellow color with a smooth finish. Worth a taste if you are interested in trying a new German beer but nothing significant to brag about with this offering.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
