This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

This is the best german beer available in bottles in my area. The beer is a great beer to introduce to beer drinkers who have a fear of trying imports.

Bottle. Light yellow with a big, frothy white head. Aroma is grassy, slightly herbal hoppy, some cereal/light malt. Taste is mostly sweet with cereals/cornflakes and some hop bitterness. Medium body, high, prickly carbonation, dry mouth feel. Short sweet and herbal bitter after taste.

I recall this beeing a better beer. Seems more bland than before. Too sweet IMO.

Hm. I used to like this a lot more. Aromas and palate now seem bland, simple, one-dimensional. Dare I say almost "Americanized." Dumbed down for mass appeal. The kind of a beer I can’t wait to finish so I can move on to something else. Disappointing.

Clear straw color with medium foamy white head. Grassy and nutty aroma. Crisp thin mouthfeel. Slightly floral hop and weak toasty malt flavor. Medium carbonation and light aftertaste of floral hops.

500 ml bottle. Pale straw golden colour with thick two finger white head. Fades gradually. Aroma of light sweet malts, corn, grassy hops. Tastes light and smooth: sweet malts, grain with a small bitter touch of hops on the top of the tongue. Sticky and crispy beer. Well, it’s a nice beer when you watch a football match or whatever.
