4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lighter amber color than some other Oktoberfest beers. A clean fresh smell with a crisp malty taste. I would say more sharp than smooth in flavor. It finishes with just the right amount of bitterness for me. Overall a very good beer that I would get again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice amber colored beer. A rather good size head became just a skim within a few minutes. Very nice roasted maltiness makes this Marzen pretty smooth and drinkable. Another good beer from Spaten.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
An amber coloured malty tasting beer, with a floral aftertaste.A pleasant mouthfeel although you are aware of the fairly high alcohol content. All round a decent drink.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Medium amber body. Head pours big but doesn’t last long. Caramel malty aroma. Caramel malty taste supplemented with mild hoppiness. Nothing special about this one, celebrate Oktoberfest with something else.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2004 Smells like a pilsener. It does taste
fairly good though. Tinge of amber color
and flavor to darken it, and it has a hint of
chocolate and strong caramel flavor. If
you are hoping to have this beer in Munich,
sorry. They serve something else at
Oktoberfest. I don't know why the
ones sold in the US are different but
Re-rate. The malt balance on these is much better than that of a lot of American counterparts.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not much on the aroma, but it looks lovely, white head, caramel color, with nice lacing. Good balanced flavors, and a nice kick. Hope to someday make it to Munich for Oktoberfest and get it at the Brauhaus.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2003 Fresh off the truck today. Creamy white head. Light amber in color. Malty up front. The beer finishes with a little bit of alcohol and spicy german hops. A good intro beer for a novice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark amber color with a light cream colored head. Slight malt and floral aroma. Nutty dry malt flavors. Dryer finish. While oktoberfest have fund there way on the shelves year around I always looked forward to these fall offerings.

Had to re-rate this when I found myself rating Sam Adams higher, because this is definitely better than Sam’s. Sort of thin, and one dimensional, however the sweet malt in the middle is enjoyable.
