COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber in color. This medium bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. Having a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition.

Blond with a bit a brown. Malty and yeasty. Only a slight bitterness to it. Seemed to finish a little dry. Very good stuff.

Light amber hue with fine head and spotted lace. Aroma is malty-sweet and slightly yeasty---quite nice...Flavor features a nice balance of sweet and roasted malts with well-judged hops and moderate carbonation for bite. A slight tang accompanies the balanced finish. Body is right for this style--moderate--and the combination of fine balance and a substantial flavor profile make this one of the leaders of the pack.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2009 Truly the most beautiful thing to come from Spaten. If I could paint my house this color believe me, I would. Thick billowing head packed with silky smooth malt. 4.1 update: 10/2/2009 Bready, floral aroma with a very floral and light flavor. One of the drier oktoberfest’s I’ve had but it is still on the top of my list.

A good sweet malty smell, but the sweet is too overpowering in the taste. Has a real nice blend of hopps and malt, that still makes it a good beer.

Unbeleivably sweet, malty taste and aroma. Nice color and body. Excellent marzen.

This was quite enjoyable. Nice malts, nuts, caramel. Smooth and creamy. Sme nice hoppiness to the finish.

re-rate Had this last night on draft. A light amber, nice head and lace. Nose was full of fresh malt, caramel, hallertau’s, nuts and others. Medium bodied, almost soft with malt galore, smooth as hell, spicy hops and unbelievable drinkability.

TAR (2503) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - SEP 14, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2004 Aroma of caramel, grape, perfume, almond extract, and Pils malts. Extremely delicate mouthfeel; soft carbonation. Intertwined flavors of fig and plum with predominant Pils malt flavors. Undertones of grassy, minimally spicy hops, unfortunately, capped with a long minerally/doughy malt blend. Above average, but far from special.

Light brown colour, nice big off white head. Malty aroma, perhaps a little banana. Small lace around the top of my glass. This one began with a bit too much malt for me, but the hops came out in the end. My first Oktoberfest, so I will try more this fall to make a better comparision.

not very enjoyable, looks crappy and smells crappy and has kinda a buttery taste, but I have trouble giving any oktoberfest a truly bad rating
