lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 19, 2007 On tap at the Draughthouse. Medium gold pour, very little head. Smell is some malt, but more yeasty than anything, although somewhat mildly so. Taste is sweet with hint of hops and a yeasty lager like flavor. Decent, very drinkable, but nothing remarkable. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Dec 14, 2007 It had a dark golden body with a very malty nose. The flavor had a nice bitter finish. elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA Nov 29, 2007 Light copper, head disappearing quickly. Smells mainly of malts & molasses. Rich malty flavor, not too sweet, but thicker than most. Hops slowly, but surely dissipate the malts. Good drinking. Smooth. Zinister (1198), Houston, Texas, USA Nov 28, 2007 I truly enjoyed this beer. Great color, very nice malty nose and wonderful caramel/toffee malt taste. All I need is a bratwurst. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Nov 27, 2007 Beautiful deep amber with a golden-kissed head that displays excellent retention. Rich butterscotch malt aroma, a little earthy (dry leaves?). Very smooth and dense toffee malt palate, full flavoured, sweet but not sickly, with a touch of earthy Fugglesish hoppiness in the finish. Absolutely delicious! stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Nov 24, 2007 Red. Beery aroma. Bitter dirty initial taste taht assaults the taste buds in a bad way. Tastes like aftertaste but doesn’t have an aftertaste. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Nov 19, 2007 Clear dark golden color, large foamy white head and small bubbles slowing rising to the top of a good looking beer. Deep malty aroma compliments the appearance, the slightest bit of hops sneaks into the aroma at the end. A real medium level palate not very carbonated though. The flavor is like the scent, heavily malted with a sprinkling of hops. It might not be the most exciting style of beer but like the fellas in the beer tents in Munich, you can drink alot of it. Leading this beer to the finest represantation of an octoberfest - and why not, its made exactly where the festival started. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Nov 18, 2007 dark amber on the pour with no head and smells mostly of malts with a tiny bit of hops in the background. very smooth malt aftertaste but not much too brag about.
