JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2007 Golden color with a light head. Aroma is sweet and malty with lots of cereal sugary sweetness and fresh honey bread. Taste is sweet, sugary, and malty with just enough hop bite to keep things interesting. Good Marzen. bonbright7 (173), Bellport, New York, USA Oct 28, 2007 I tapped a 1/2 barrel of this last night for a Halloween party and the rich grains and malt stood out in the taste. While I did note the sweetness, the overall body tasted well with pronounced hops. blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA Oct 26, 2007 bottle poured a brownish copper in color with a decent two finger head. smell is malts, spice, and light roast. taste is medium-light in body, good malts, spice, light roast, and a decent brew. drank with the German guy after the inspection. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2007 Draught at the Schnitzelhaus in Tampa. Copper/rust colored body with a creamy, 1.5 finger thick white head. Nice lacing for the style. Nose of sweet malts, bread dough, oranges, tangerines, floral hops. Smells very nice. Not nearly as sweet as other Ofest beers I have had, and I like that. There is a nice sweetness but it’s balanced very well by the citrus and floral notes. Also has a nice grassy/earthy flavor at the back end. Creamy palate, medium bodied. Finish is medium length and semi-sweet. Probably my second favorite Ofest after Ayinger. Well done. tjpasley79 (29), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Oct 26, 2007 Good poor with nice head. Scent can be deceiving, good taste with nice aftertaste. Good beer to come home and have after work before dinner. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 26, 2007 Malty sweetness mostly in aroma and flavor. A lot of nice bready notes. Just balanced out by the low bitterness. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 25, 2007 the beer pours a clear pale orange color with a nice thick head to it. It has a sweet yet pale and bland aroma of nuts and fall spices. as you drink it, the flavors are a little spicy and mildly hoppy. it leaves a nice toffee flavor on the palate. conor23 (110), Elgin, Illinois, USA Oct 25, 2007 Aroma is very skunky. Flavor is smoky and a little spicy with hoppy finish and lingering bitter aftertaste. I would rate this as a decent Oktoberfest beer but not the best I have tried.
