Nice malt flavor, opens sharp and folds into a smoother and sweeter beer with lots of drinkability. emacgee (1864), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

It has a sweet malty, and ever so slight caramel nose. The color is dark and golden. Nice lacing, but it doesn’t hang in the glass. Medium carbonation. The taste is also malty, sweet, medium mouthfeel, and a subtle bitter hop finish. 8/30/09 update. Yummy!! thenick (744), North Bellmore, New York, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2007 I tapped a 1/2 barrel of this last night for a Halloween party and the rich grains and malt stood out in the taste. While I did note the sweetness, the overall body tasted well with pronounced hops. blklab2007 (954), Connecticut, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Draught at the Schnitzelhaus in Tampa. Copper/rust colored body with a creamy, 1.5 finger thick white head. Nice lacing for the style. Nose of sweet malts, bread dough, oranges, tangerines, floral hops. Smells very nice. Not nearly as sweet as other Ofest beers I have had, and I like that. There is a nice sweetness but it’s balanced very well by the citrus and floral notes. Also has a nice grassy/earthy flavor at the back end. Creamy palate, medium bodied. Finish is medium length and semi-sweet. Probably my second favorite Ofest after Ayinger. Well done.
