Oct 25, 2007 the beer pours a clear pale orange color with a nice thick head to it. It has a sweet yet pale and bland aroma of nuts and fall spices. as you drink it, the flavors are a little spicy and mildly hoppy. it leaves a nice toffee flavor on the palate.

Oct 25, 2007 Aroma is very skunky. Flavor is smoky and a little spicy with hoppy finish and lingering bitter aftertaste. I would rate this as a decent Oktoberfest beer but not the best I have tried.

Oct 19, 2007 12 oz. with a " L15521M " bottling code. Pours a clear amber color with an off white head. Spicy gingerbread, yeasty smell. Medium bodied with a rich, creamy mouthfeel. Has a malty, bready sweet taste with a subtle Euro-hop essence to finish. Classic German.

Oct 17, 2007 Updated: Sep 28, 2008Poured from draft at The Sanctuary (Iowa City, IA) into a conical pint glass. Color a very pleasant crisp amber. Head is minimal - this is my third beer here and maybe it’s The Sanctuary itself that is leaving me "Headless" : P. Smell is faint (perhaps also due to The Sanctuary). Smell vaguely of sweet malts. Inviting - No hops in smell. Let’s be blunt. I don’t like Marzen/Okt style beers. Very nice initial taste. Sharp roasted malts combat a small hop flavor. Balanced, but not completely. Roasted breaks way to carmelized flavor and a nice sweet undertone in the finish. Extremely enjoyable aftertaste.
