NPRugby11 (82), New York, USA Oct 23, 2007 If it wasn’t for the skunk, this would be an incredible beer, but the skunk overpowers everything. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA Oct 23, 2007 amber pour with a grayish white head...very yeasty aroma...watery mouthfeel...malts and very light sweetness...carbonation in the finish AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 19, 2007 12 oz. with a " L15521M " bottling code. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Oct 17, 2007 Updated: Sep 28, 2008Poured from draft at The Sanctuary (Iowa City, IA) into a conical pint glass. Color a very pleasant crisp amber. Head is minimal - this is my third beer here and maybe it’s The Sanctuary itself that is leaving me "Headless" : P. Smell is faint (perhaps also due to The Sanctuary). Smell vaguely of sweet malts. Inviting - No hops in smell. Let’s be blunt. I don’t like Marzen/Okt style beers. Very nice initial taste. Sharp roasted malts combat a small hop flavor. Balanced, but not completely. Roasted breaks way to carmelized flavor and a nice sweet undertone in the finish. Extremely enjoyable aftertaste. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 16, 2007 draft @ floyd’s place - cloudy amber with white head; malts aromas slightly overpower the hops; same with the flavors boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 14, 2007 Bottle... I don’t think I’m a big fan of this style. Too mild, too much malt, and even though, in the description, they say "the perfect amount of hops," I really want more of them. This tasted like liquified hard candy with alcohol and a metallic aftertaste. Good looking beer though... Ruby with a great big head. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Oct 13, 2007 Coppery color. Yeasty, rustic smell. Balanced, creamy, and soft. Slightly sweet and malty aftertaste but totally smooth and good: easy to drink. Aroma might be its most interesting feature. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA Oct 13, 2007 On tap at Redlefsen’s in Bristol RI on their Ocktoberfest night. Medium amber body. Head pours big but doesn’t last long. Caramel malty aroma. Caramel malty taste with mild hoppiness. Not too bad but nothing really stands out either.
