Sep 20, 2007 Overall a good beer, drinks better warmer as it allows the sweeter flavors out. Drunk cold its really smooth but tastes more like a pilsen than a oktoberfest. Either way its a really beer.

Sep 20, 2007 I Love the Spaten for it’s drinkability, approachability and inexpensive tag. Oh yeah...it freakin’ tastes great! Oktoberfest beers done right are the most beautiful. This is very well balanced and not too sweet. You can have three or four in a row if you’re not careful. If you’re at a festival have more!

Sep 19, 2007 Tap. Pours a brown tinged gold, with a nice off white head floating on top. Nose is marginally malty and just smells like beer. Flavor is clean but nothing much happening. It is pretty underwhelming in every area, not unpleasent, just not much to speak of. I would pass on this in the future and this reaffirms that Oktoberfests are just not my thing.

Sep 18, 2007 Pours a copper color with very little white head. Aroma of grassiness with none of the caramel and fruitiness that you expect in a Marzen. The aroma is almost pilsner like. Taste is grass, light caramel, sweet bread, and very light fruit. This is almost like a marzen/pils hybrid.

Sep 17, 2007 has a pale amber color with small white head. light roasted malt aroma. interesting body, it’s not really light but, not really thick either, goes down easily nonetheless. lightly roasted caramel malt flavor that has a light floral spiciness to it. good flavor and easy drinking

Sep 13, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a light amber color with a nice medium sized, white fluffy head. Heavy malt aroma with some roastiness and hints of hops. Smells tasty! Lots of malts in the flavor, tiny bit of hops near the end, and actually a bit of alcohol too. Roasty-like with a nice aftertaste. Solid. A bit bodied, with most of the mouth feel coming in near the swallow, but very drinkable. Can be a little harsh between gulps from the alcohol kicking in, but a very nice Oktoberfest.

Sep 13, 2007 On tap at local restaurant...a bit darker than the average Marzen. A bit bold in flavor, there was definitely a burnt malt characteristic to this brew, but was balanced nicely by the sweetness of the drink. Very little hops on the palate and somewhat bitter, even with its characteristic sweetness up front. Would probably tend to try something different next time, but nothing to scoff at
