joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA Sep 17, 2007 has a pale amber color with small white head. light roasted malt aroma. interesting body, it’s not really light but, not really thick either, goes down easily nonetheless. lightly roasted caramel malt flavor that has a light floral spiciness to it. good flavor and easy drinking pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2007 good stuff.. well balanced.. overall impressive seasonal. Hops and malt flavor with average palate emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA Sep 13, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a light amber color with a nice medium sized, white fluffy head. Heavy malt aroma with some roastiness and hints of hops. Smells tasty! Lots of malts in the flavor, tiny bit of hops near the end, and actually a bit of alcohol too. Roasty-like with a nice aftertaste. Solid. A bit bodied, with most of the mouth feel coming in near the swallow, but very drinkable. Can be a little harsh between gulps from the alcohol kicking in, but a very nice Oktoberfest. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Sep 13, 2007 On tap at local restaurant...a bit darker than the average Marzen. A bit bold in flavor, there was definitely a burnt malt characteristic to this brew, but was balanced nicely by the sweetness of the drink. Very little hops on the palate and somewhat bitter, even with its characteristic sweetness up front. Would probably tend to try something different next time, but nothing to scoff at joverton85 (80), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Sep 12, 2007 bottle 12 oz. decent oktoberfest. amber color. little fizzy head quickly fades. no lacing. tad bitter for the style but a good drink overall. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 12, 2007 On tap, 9/11/07. Deep amber color with somewhat quick dying foam that leaves decent lacing. Aroma is lots of Vienna malt. Flavor is malt, malt and more malt, just a little hint of spiciness form the hops in the finish. Very drinkable, spot on carbonation, near silky mouthfeel. I think they have really cleaned this beer up from about 5-6 years ago when it when damn near Helles in color and flavor. Mark that down as one thing In-Bev has managed to do right. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA Sep 11, 2007 355 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with an adequate off-white head. Sweet malty nose. Medium body with an initial sweetness leading to a full malt body. Nice lingering crisp finish. thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 10, 2007 Pours an autumnal reddish orange into a shaker. Offwhite conglomerate head quickly pancakes with no lacing. Malt aromas. Crisp and slightly sour and vegetal with a lasting malty spice finish. Wanted to like this one more...really enjoyed the Spaten house at Octoberfest...
