charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Aug 30, 2007 On draft at the Saucer. Pours a deep copper with a lasting off-white head. Aroma dominated by lightly kilned malts. Taste is sweet with caramel, balanced by noble German hops with herbal/minty character. Very satisfying. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 30, 2007 Notes of caramel malts and a little nuttiness in the nose. Pours amber in color. Very malt forward with flavors of caramel and a little roast followed by a sweet breadiness. Finishes crisp. A very good oktoberfest bier. tagz (334), USA Aug 29, 2007 draft. brown-orange with thin off white head. light malt aroma. taste is sweet mollases and malts. palate is thinner than i expected. a decent beer but the flavors didn’t blow me away and tended to hang in the mouth a bit. scrizzz (1247), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 28, 2007 beautiful looking beer on tap! amber and a thick fluffy head that reached past the lip. rich and smooth flavor that hangs around pleasantly down the back of my throat. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2007 At first the aroma is a little musty when youi pop the lid on this green bottle. No wonder! The date code is 1397, aged well! Good clean friendly marzen. Nice carbonation. A little darker than the regular pale yellow american lager. Lemony citrus flavors without any hop bitterness or bite. Finish is long but well behaved and agreeable. An almost tasty unique metallic palate for a few minutes. . shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA Aug 26, 2007 Updated: Oct 25, 2007I couldn’t pass this one up. Bought from my work (Party Source). We had a few six packs left over from last years Oktoberfest and so were marked down to $3.99 a six pack. Thats an awesome price for anything from Spaten! Also, due to the care that was taken it retained it’s freshness and I definitely couldn’t notice any signs of spoiling. It pours with a big, rocky head. The color is deep amber with an appealing hue. Smell of roasted malt with a sticky caramel, molasses sweetness. The taste is smooth, toasty and has an amber ale bittersweetness. Great Oktoberfest, absolutely definitive of the style. After stocking up on six packs of this and drinking it for a couple weeks, it has definitely found a soft spot in my heart... and stomach. ilikestuff (222), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Aug 24, 2007 Mini self tapping keg from the liqour store. Pours a nice golden color with a white head. Aroma is slightly grainy and sweet. Flavor is crisp and smooth with a surprising maltiness.
