There’s just something good about it, and it’s refreshing right down the line. djd07 (733), Houston, Texas, USA

Pours brownish-copper with a small beige head--mostly diminishing with not much lacing. Nose is sweet: raisin... some apple. Taste is caramel malt with a hint of hops. Light to medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin with a very subtle finish. Not too complex, but not too flat either. Driftwood6 (214), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2007 This is a very typical German marzen. Nothing too crazy here-- just that nice balance of malt and hops. I’ve kind of lost my interest in this st yle, but I don’t remember many others that were significantly better than the Spaten. benfergy (46), Valley City, North Dakota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 31, 2007 Bold amber appearance, a little head. The aroma is fairly mellow, kinda weak. The flavor is definitely that of a lager, but it’s also reminiscent of a brown ale. Either way, it is refreshing and crisp. The palate is smooth indeed. In general, it’s a good mild beer.
