anaheim1983 (111), Anaheim, California, USA Feb 1, 2007 Very rich munich malt slight sweetness and great lager like character, very little hops but great balance none the less. Great mouthfeel sabreswin (9), Newnan, Georgia, USA does not count Jan 31, 2007 This beer is almost as good as the Optimator!! with a liitle less KICK - same price $10.99 a 12 pack.. if you are looking to try Spaten for the first time....DO IT!!! you will not regret it, all the Spaten products are kick ass detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 28, 2007 The beer is a copper amber color, very clear, producing an inch of white foam only because of an aggressive pour. Despite that, no lacing at all. Faint caramel malt in the aroma.
A smooth taste, with some caramel malt and a little breadiness, but nothing overly compelling. The finish is a little drier with a hint of floral hops. No aftertaste to speak of. Medium body, okay carbonation.
An okay beer, true to the style, (after all, it defined the style, right?) but ultimately too mild for me.
ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jan 27, 2007 Green bottle poured a clear amber with a minimal offwhite head. Aromas of carmel, bread, hint citrus and a light hint of skunk. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, sweet malt, carmel and a light hint of citrus with a crisp clean finish. johnykat (65), Pennsylvania, USA Jan 5, 2007 I think I expected too much from this beer, and to be honest I don’t know why. To me, it just tastes like Spaten with some carmel/malt flavors added to it. Not bad, but it wasn’t great either. I enjoy just regular Spaten more than this beer, which I was dissapointed about. bendz1 (86), Ankeny, Iowa, USA Jan 1, 2007 One of the best Octoberfest beers I’ve tried. Nice amber color. A very distinguished German flavor to the beer. boxen (7), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count Dec 28, 2006 Nice amber-brown color with a somewhat persistent white head. Fair malty flavor with a nice, refined hop finish and fairly solid body. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA Dec 20, 2006 Great frothy, white head on this one. Light brown pour with a strong pale malt aroma. Rich, sticky mouthfeel. Flavor is a bready, sweeter malt, but still with a good deal of paleness in there. Long bite in the aftertaste. Great German Beer!
