chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA Sep 12, 2006 Amber/copper translucent. Malty carmaely aroma. Big malty, lightly roasted, caramael, raisins, and nice spicy hops, Yum. I love this time of the year. Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 11, 2006 Draught. Pours golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, bready, a little grainy, and oddly a little like cider. Flavor is basically the same, with some caramel and just the slightest bit of aromatic hops coming in. Decent. Coir (7), Harrah, Oklahoma, USA does not count Sep 11, 2006 Lightly burnt orange color, not much head. Faint bread aroma with hops and light caramel scent. Medium carbonation. Taste is malty, lightly bitter. Dry finish. One of my favorite beers. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2006 Pours an orangish amber with a bit of awhite head, thinning quickly. The aroma is a little skunked with sweet malt and a caramel subtext along with a hint of flowery/peppery hops. The palate is about appropriate for the beer. Average carbonation, a bit creamy, with low viscosity. The flavors are in line with the aromas, though the skunk is a bit less aggressive. The sweet malt has some caramel character and is balanced well by flowery/peppery hops. The aftertaste is a bit skunked up combination of caramel lingering and the end of the hop note. This might be better fresher, but this hasn’t been in the liquor store for long. Oh well! tcruicks (282), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2006 This beer has a copper- yellow color with a thin white head. Smells sweet and malty, some strawberries or general berry fruits, faint caramel. There was also some skunk in both the aroma and the flavor, which was difficult to overlook. The flavor is similar with some toasty flavors, some citrus, the same malt balanced with some hops. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 9, 2006 This is probably my favorite or very near favorite of the Oktoberfest beers. Deep amber/copper colorwith a moderate head that dissapates rather quickly. Malty, but not too sweet, with a dry hop background and finish. Quite delicious. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA Sep 7, 2006 My first beer in this style. Generous frothy, creamy head...dissipates quickly but leaves behind some foam and bubbles on the surface. Mouth-watering aroma of malt, hops, and some breadiness. Nice clear dark amber color. Definitely a predominantly sweet and malty flavor, but hops are also present to some degree. The mouthfeel is extra crisp and refreshing, with an extremely dry finish. A prime autumn session brew. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Sep 7, 2006 Yup, green bottle. Sweet, very malty nose, but that’s it - very simple. Initial skunk fades. Copper-amber pour with a rich beige head. Mild hoppy bitterness in the taste well balanced by a firm maltiness, caramel the lead flavor, faint fruitiness in the bg. A little dark veggie / "earth." Medium body. Crisp with a smooth memory. Clean and fresh, buuut...
...boring!
