GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Sep 6, 2006 Pours dull copper w/ medium spritzy froth. Aromas of sweet malt and wet hay. Medium nectar / ample residual effers. Flavors are doughy and fruity w/ tobacco and vegetal goings ons. Slight tart on finsh w/ a light acidic bittering. Leaves an undesirable cooked malt flavor in the mouth. Overall: I am not a fan. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 31, 2006 (Tap) Pours amber with beige head. Smooth beer. Malty notes, with hops just slightly noticeable. Rather thin mouthfeel. I’ve had better German beers. drpimento (796), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Aug 28, 2006 nice malty red lager, a better version this year than last. a little dryness to keep it interesting. got this on draft at the Bodega downtown La Crosse. Who’s getting a Jager bomb
milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 27, 2006 Updated: Sep 8, 2006I’m usually a "hop head", but I have a soft spot for a malty/sweet Oktoberfest---as long as it can be had on a sweet deal. ($20.99/case at Costco) I enjoy this brew! jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 23, 2006 Pours copperish with a nice off white head. Aroma of sweet malts and slight hoppiness. Has a nice toasty malt sweetness with a nice balance of bitterness on the finish. One of the better Oktober fest beers I’ve had so far this year. bighair (51), Hamilton, Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2006 very nice. a local german bar has this on tap and it’s definitely my favorite of the seemingly endless variety of spaten lagers. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Aug 11, 2006 Updated: Sep 20, 2006On tap at Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. Very well balanced and smooth session beer. Nothing stands out, but it is smooth, sweet, and hopped just right. WileCoyote (9), Libertyville, Illinois, USA does not count Aug 10, 2006 A very pretty beer. Copper body with an off-white head that quickly dissipated. Nice lacing on the glass, though. Bit of a toasted and floral aroma. I can barely taste the toasted malts or the hop characteristics. A bit thin and watery. I’m not impressed. Might do well with the Millcooweiser folks.
