Amber in color. This medium bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. Having a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition.

Aroma of corn tortillas. Reminds me of walking in to a Mexican Grocery Store. Tastes okay but had a tough time getting past the nose. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown pour, mild head. Rich and strong malty nose, nice bitterness that finishes fast and watery.

Draft at Porvoon Paahtimo, Porvoo. Thought I had the wrong beer at first, as I wouldn’t call it amber. More like light gold. Clear with visible carbonation. Grainy malty smell not dissimilar to a macro lager, but it’s fresher. Sweet taste with a suggestion of candied orange peel. Long sweet finish. Yest and vanilla notes in the aftertaste. Not too bad but not the best Oktoberfest beer I’ve had. Just that little bit too cloying.

Deep amber copper pour with a small white head. Aroma is metallic, some sweet malt. Flavor is also metallic with some sweet malt, mild fruits, maybe a hint of sassafras. Mouth feel is medium and silky with decent fizz. Finishes slightly malty but with a huge metallic twang.

Drank from a green bottle. Aroma is skunk and grain. Flavor is grain, caramel, earth, and skunk. Has a light body, well-carbonated. Okay.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber with a small white head. Aroma is caramel malt and very light fruit. Taste is light malt up front with a mild hop finish. Low bitterness. Light body. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is a little bubbly but otherwise pretty average for a marzen.

It poured a burnt bronze body with some carbonation and a small head, no lace left on the glass. Aroma of sweet malts, flavor of tart malts almost like vinegar. Mouthfeel was adequate. Overall there are too many other oktoberfest beers out there that warrant my attention and money. Originally rated on 10/10/08

24 pack from Costco, bought on 01-Sep. Malty sweet, almost caramelly aromas with no hop aroma. Color is spot on and brilliant but the carbonation is too low for style. Taste is malty-caramelly, too much for my taste; hop bitterness is low as is the flavor. Finish is medium sweet. Not my favorite style.

From 12 oz bottle. Served in clear plastic party cup. Amber color. Thin white head. Little lacing. Malty but balanced. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Overall good Oktoberfest.

Tap at MacGregors. Deep amber, clear, medium head. Malty nose, light caramel, just a bit of hop, grassy and a touch of citrus. Sweet, rich malt, less caramel than the color would suggest, but enough. Rather straightforward. Low hop, but rich and tasty.
